It's my first time with octagon. Their price is well bellow competition so why not a try. Send my 8 years no claim which was immediately accepted and after 42 days temporary insurance expired I got full yeat certificate straight away. No need to talk. Only online chat. Hi as my card failed twice withe your company use decided it was a day late ... So charged extra £100 fur you customer service not doing there job. .Got my cousins card today at also failed i got told no money will be out his bank gues what there £450 up again. I have bn a customer with use for many years now .. My car renewal was up so a paid a full anually fee on 17/11/2014 and got told yer cars not insured with us just now you can have cash back in 5 days so as you have to do is agree you cant win or get manager . Then on 18/11/2014 i paid another £400 anually fee and they said same thing again we will give you money back in 5 days . “I have just been hit from behind while waiting at a...”

I have just been hit from behind while waiting at a junction. Took drivers details and photos. All done to aid my insurance claim, sorted. How wrong was i. basically, because i am expected to pay my £350 excess up front and i can't afford that, they don't want to know even though it was the other persons fault. The staff sound young, scripted, unhelpful, rude and not interested in the trauma this is causing me. “Absolutely diabolical”

Had to send documents over 6 times before they would insure they are also expensive to call. There customer service agents are rude and untrained, a quick call every time for a qoute on change of vehicle leads to a manager call every time. Customer service is appalling with this company. On hold for way too long on an 0844 number just trying to update some of my information and change car details. Repeatedly put on hold during my call as the handler didn't know answers to any of my questions. They used lots of delay tactics on the phone to keep me on the call and asked me loads more questions than they do when you request a quote online. I phoned these people for a quote they gave me a quote I said I would ring them back he said I would not get the same offer so I paid £50 pound he told me I would get £50 back if f changed my mind no mention that I would be charged if I cancelled the rip off merchants have charged me £26 pound and I will have to wait 60 be for I get any thing back I was well and truly conned they should have told me about any cancellation fee they even charged £2 50 for taking it off my card which they also… Read Full Review

Please avoid this company at all costs! After accepting my NCB they decided to cancel my insurance. They charged me over £300 extra, for no reason what so ever. They make you ring on 0870 numbers calling 50 pence per minute on a mobile! Avoid!… Read Full Review

I have been trying to get hold of information about a claim I made last August 2013 which only got sorted in July this year when I recevied half my excess back. “Don't be fooled by their cheap price”

I'm no different from anyone else. To me insurance is just a piece of paper to make me legal so the cheaper the insurance the better. I couldn't have been any more wrong. I had been insured with Octagon for several years. Never many reasons to contact them so everything was fine. Then one day my car was hit whist it was parked at night. Hello ,you should make a formal complain! and then await a the response from octagon who are also one call direct with in 28days and then contact the financial ombudsman, because I did so back in march after having issues with them over a repair in line with a crash I had and was give just under a £1000 back after octagon had under paid me for my van.
PS, I was also with them for 4 years with no claims being made a part from this one, I hope this is of some help to you

Poor customer service. I have sent them my NCB and received confirmation of this. A month later i received another confirmation. Followed by a letter, stating they have not received my NCB. The 0844 number is expensive. The amount of paperwork i had to send in to obtain insurance was excessive. my threat of the insurance ombudsman and finally they admitted a computer error. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I know they seem too good to be true with the price but it really isn't worth it, not only was a simple open and close NON-FAULT CLAIM open for just under two years also lost my 3 years no claim bonus and had to pay my £700 excess, my premiums went up drastically and I got spoken like I was nothing AND hung up on by the claims team call centre. “Great, until you actually need them !!!!!!”

They are brilliant at sorting out payments for the policy. In all other areas they fail miserably. My car was involved in a not at fault accident, their approved solicitors were on the phone in minutes to get the injury compensation sorted but to actually sort out the damage to my car (which will be written off by the look of it) is pitiful. A week after getting insured with octagan I was sent a letter saying that on the dvla's data base was showing my car had been scrapped and to send in an explanation with all my mot and documents as proof. I contacted dvla and did checks online which obviously came back clear.
