    Good Points: It has really helped me through 'A' level and it is continuing to help me throuhg the start of my degree in English Language. It is written in a basic format so that it is easy to understand.


    Bad Points: Some of the examples used are a bit obsucre and sometimes uses different examples to other leading linguists.


    General comments: I have found it really useful as a summary guide to linguistics, it does however require back up reading, as a lot of what Thorne says is true, but written obscurely.
