Good Points: There was some useful information on what the full duties of a Best Man could be.
Bad Points: Where do I start? Pompousity and arrogance of the author. Grossly overpriced. The stories were tweely embarassing and amusing. The sample speeches were equally abysmal
General comments: Phillip Khan-Panni, Be the Best, Best Man and Make a Stunning Speech - Without wanting to be too negative, this is one of the most self-satisfied and poorly laid out books I have ever had the misfortune to read.
It is more an opportunity for him to boast about what a champion (not award winning, champion) speaker he is than an attempt to help the reader with the speech. The stories were as unamusing as I have ever heard and the sample speeches were a joke, e.g. a sample speech for a groom that is an airline pilot. I have never known an airline pilot or indeed anybody who has known an airline pilot. The author advises that the speech should be made sober but I would probably require some class A drugs if I had to deliver such drivel.
One positive of this book was that it gave me confidence for my speech as I was confident that it would be impossible to make a speech as bad as the author was suggesting.
