I ordered a giottos Silk Road tripod and series 2 ball head, and a Canon 24-105mm IS L lens from Digital Depot. They are an actual shop for one, and have by far the cheapest prices for official UK stock (non grey imported), and a free 2 year warranty. Would definately use them again. (read more)

I was in the market for a new Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 having sold my Nikon 500mm f/4. As always I shopped around and found the usual cheap grey imports for a fair bit less than UK supplied stock. Problem is - grey imports = potential warranty problems so its a trade off between the price difference and how much you value the security of a 3 year warranty. I visited the site to check the price of some binoculars I was interested in purchasing. I saw there was a chat facility and so I used that to check that the item was in stock. I then ordered the item and paid via Paypal. I contacted a member of staff through 'chat' to ask if Royal mail could be used instead of a courier and they spoke to the packing section to post it out via Royal mail. Bought 70 200 Nikon lens and when it arrived it had been shoddilly packed ie. recycled cardboard box flimsily held together with parcel tape and a single layer of bubble wrap. I was surprised it survived the journey. Lens cap a non Nikon one that does not fit properly.No Nikon box either. The MD was all apologies explaining that the normal packer was away and that it was indeed unacceptable etc etc and that he would send me a Nikon lens cap \"asap\". My DLSR was stolen from my place and I decided to buy another one, then I bought a Sony DSLR a-390 and paid £8.95 for next day delivery 'cause I was going on holiday and I needed it to be delivery on the day, at 13:00hrs on the day after I bought it nothing happened and I gave them a call, The person that I spoke with over the phone was very polite, but That doesn't take away the fact that they sold me something that they didn't have on stock, and messed up my holiday. This company is considerably better than others ive delt with. the main advantage was being able to chat with someone online, without the usual sitting in a call queue. the service so far has been briliant. i selected free delivery and still received the camera next day. He said that he only had one in stock but it was display one that was sitting in a display cabinet. He offered me it at £899 and that was including delivery. It still had the full Nikon Warrante on it so I was very pleased.
