Purchased 3 2.5m+ tree from here last week, they are better than expected and already growing in my garden. Delivery came on their own van and the driver was helpful.

Paid £163 for a laburnum tree. Deliver arrived while I was asleep. 06.35 am and tried ringing me. Left damaged outside my property. No planting instructions. Dead within 2 weeks. Contacted them and was told I had planted it wrong although it had no information with the tree or on the website. Owners could not speak to me. looking at the way they treat there staff its no wonder they treat there customers the same. 2 bullies

Please avoid them if you are someone who cannot carry large plants yourself from the road outside into your home. They are “curb side delivery” only, and although this is written on their website it is in small print where I did not notice this condition. It is not stated in the confirmation email. The plants themselves are in poor condition. When the plants I ordered arrived the delivery service would not bring them into the building. I am 4 months pregnant, and there was a 7.5litre potted plant and various other plants, I certainly didn’t feel comfortable dragging these into the building or my flat. They were delivered in a brown box on a large wooden pallet, much too heavy to carry. I had to persuade the delivery guy to bring them into the building. I didn’t pay £20 delivery to have them delivered outside my building, and not in my 2nd floor flat. When I called their customer service they were completely unsympathetic, refused to refund any of the delivery charge, and the manager even said should I be fine to carry them even when I’m pregnant, because she carried heavy plants when she was pregnant! The plants themselves are not in a well cared for state. I would send them back but they say I have to pay for another delivery charge.

We spent over £200 on 2 large Bamboos and what we received was nothing like the advertised image. They advertised these as well established bushy plants and ours clearly wasn’t no where near. I know you can’t guarantee all to be the same but something similar would have been expected. When I raised it with them in writing they just weren’t interested, terrible customer service so please don’t waste your money

I’m incredibly disappointed with the product and service I have received from Grasslands. I’ve bought from them before and the products were ok. However in a recent order, plants arrived cling filmed onto the side of a box, on one of the hottest days of the year. In the pictures provided to Grasslands you can clearly see they are dead, however the rude and unhelpful keyboard warrior, claiming to be customer service, said they are just a thirsty plant. Also in the order was a purple rhododendron. The buds are dead, but again the keyboard warrior, said that the rhododendron was out of flowering season. Again this is false information. The plant is in season, they just sent old stock. I’ve raised many questions with Grasslands and am now being ignored. I’d strongly advise not using them. I’m awaiting confirmation of a full refund. Whilst the prices may be enticing, the quality of product and level of customer service is poor. This company are capitalising on the coronavirus, with good garden centres closed, by selling old and dead stock. This is not ok and I have raised the issue with trading standards.

Two ton of gravel ordered and paid for Saturday delivery specifically to make sure we were around to move cars etc. rang to confirm the delivery date to arrive home on Monday to find two ton bags in the middle of the drive. We had to cancel other aggregate supplies that were booked in that week to complete our garden project. Rang the office to be told 'we are very busy and this happens', great thanks for that, so standards slip when your busy! Offer of Saturday element of delivery refund £5 was an insult considering the time and effort I have spent cancelling other deliveries. Maybe if your staff and drivers actually pay attention to what customers write in the delivery instructions these situations could be avoided as mine clearly stated to ring prior to delivering so we could move cars around - no call and it was just left in the drive! Only good thing was this was only two ton and not the full amount we need to finish the whole drive.

Called to dispute a delivery charge to be told in no uncertain terms by an assistant that they won't refund the charge, don't care if I never use them again and just generally downright rude on the phone. If you have no problems with the order they are nice as pie with you but if you need to dispute/complain, you won't get anywhere, especially if you speak to one of the hired help. Anyhoo, I have contacted my C.C. company who where most helpful and totally agree that parts of their website (bits about delivery charges are totally misleading.) :(

Ordered a wisteria in a 10l pot on Tuesday evening. Email received on Wednesday to say the climber was being sent next day delivery via TNT. Sure enough, the parcel arrived at lunchtime on Thursday, about 36 hours after ordering. Packaged incredibly well to protect the whole plant. Opened up and very impressed that the plant was a good 190cm (ad said 150-200cm). Lots of foliage all the way to the base, very strong, sturdy and healthy. I ordered this wisteria for £43.50 including delivery after I had priced this up at a local garden centre for £50 in the same size pot. Not only did this save me £6.50 but it was much bushier. Already checking out the website for additional plants and hoping for equally healthy, value-for-money plants. Thanks Grasslands for exceeding expectations at a great price!

Extremely Disappointed with the quality of plants, the website descriptions and sale team service. I purchased two black bamboo (Phyllostachys Nigra) advertised as 120-140cm tall. This was not really the case, they do have a couple of new shoots that are in this height range but the actual body/mass of shoots is only half the height at 60cm tall. It will be a good few years before the bamboo grows to be a full clump at 140cm. To add to this both plants are arrived in a very poor state - just about every leaf has brown spots and dry crispy tips. I was told by the team at Grasslands that it was winter damage (more likely a lack of knowledge by the nursery staff that tap water does this to bamboo not winter) and the plants will be fine. I want my plants to be fine now especially if they are costing nearly £40 each not to turn up damaged. Lastly, along with my purchase of the two bamboos I purchased a large tree fern (Dicksonia Antartica) sold as a 4 foot log i.e. 4 feet of trunk below the fronds. So I was a bit confused when it arrived and looked a little short. It was short and measured up at 38 inches or 3'2" no where near 4 foot. This was also mentioned to the sales team who said that they bury around a foot of trunk in the soil to stop it from falling over. What a joke - so after all that a 4 foot log turns out to be a 3 foot log because it is sent without a root ball but instead simply stuck in some soil to keep it up right. So when it comes to planting it out I will in turn need to do the same and be stuck with a 3 foot tree which I don't want or a 4 foot tree that is very top heavy with no root ball to hold it in place. I will never shop here again.

Delighted with this purchase. Got a very good deal on a bulk bag of slate, which is very good quality and looks great. I opted for a Saturday delivery having placed the order on a Bank Holiday Monday. The order turned up on the Saturday and the driver was very helpful and positioned the bag exactly where I asked. My only gripe is that after placing the order, I did not get any further update as to when it would be delivered (this Saturday, next Saturday) and I didn't get round to phoning for an update during office hours. A simple email confirming a delivery slot (or even the date) would have made this a perfect review. Very pleased overall however - thanks.

I rang customer care today regarding a tree that was delivered in very poor condition due to being left un- watered at the nursery over the weekend (after paying £15 plus £2.50 transaction fee for it to be delivered as it wouldn't fit in our car even though I was reassured it would fit in the car by staff over the phone). I tried to speak to the lady I e-mailed earlier that day about exchanging or refunding ,this was after she e-mailed me to say it was my fault the tree was almost dead, but the man who answered the phone this time refused this request and instead SCREAMED down the phone so loud and aggressively at me that I had to hold the phone away from my ear! He also said it was my fault 'GO ON SPIT IT OUT,YOU WANT ME TO GO BACK AND GET IT NOW DONT YOU? YOU LEFT THE TREE THERE ALL DAY SATURDAY! I have kept the email as proof but don't have a recording of the abuse I got over the phone. I asked him to please stop shouting at me but to no avail, so I had to put the phone down. This is not what you expect to hear when you phone Customer Care! Disgusting and appalling behaviour from a 'family run business'? and a business which advertises itself and I quote, 'All our plants are professionally grown, cared for, picked and packed by our team of horticulturists' Really? Despite the bullying over the phone that I was subject too I sent an e-mail to try and arrange a swap or refund and have no reply. Shocking change to the service we have enjoyed before . What is going on over there? WORST experience ever. Once they had my money they couldn't care less about the care or watering of the stock. If I was verbally abused like that that in public I would call the police. KEEP AWAY from grasslands.

I was disappointed with the plants initially supplied but when I raised it with Grasslands they were courteous, friendly and quick to determine what was wrong with the plants and to send replacements of excellent quality. Five star service from five star people.

The turf arrived when promised and was good quality and very easy to lay. It is soft to walk on and taking well in the garden. I can't believe it was so reasonably priced and I would definitely recommend this site to anyone wanting turf, thank you for your quality product and good service. The staff in the office were very helpful when I called.

If you want to improve your garden and save a bit of money I would suggest a visit to the Grasslands nursery in Cheshire. They have a cafe onsite and allow you to walk around with your dog. Pleasant staff are happy to advise you and I have ordered from their gravel section as well. Good delivery service and very reasonable price. In fact we are visiting tomorrow to pick up further plants. Nothing wrong with the quality.

Hi I see you have left us a dirty smear on google feedback. I think people like yourself should be black balled from buying if all you can do with your time is write poison reviews. I am currently involved in a web reveiw site for just such customers. You were the person so obtuse as not understand simple English and take it the wrong way. I mean, next day delivery order before 12. I wonder how many people in a million would read that as, order at 10 at night get by 12 noon next day. One thing I have done since is to take out your post code from our delivery matrix in the hope of never dealing with you again as well as tried even harder to turn plain English even clearer. Thanks for the feed back I am going to leave you some. Man up retract yours and I will retract mine and we can part on good terms. Hows that. M.D.

That comment by an owner is pretty bad form. You could have just pointed out the facts and people would have been on your side, but you have gone too far and make yourself look very bad. Whoever left the original review, please don't retract as this owners comment says all anyone needs to know.
