I love coming here, My brother and I get our haircuts by Mags and each time she delivers and gives us amazing haircuts. Hard to find places where you feel comfortable and able to relax all the time. I work past the shop every day and each day it is always busy! FYI I LOVE YOU MAGS!!!!! (read more)

I was bought a voucher by my husband for my birthday. I was a bit apprehensive about going to a male orientated barbers, but I needn't have worried. I was taken through to the well appointed treatment area and greeted by my therapist who was very welcoming and put me at ease. She discussed with me what I would like to get out of the treatment before we began - relaxation and to get rid of tension from my shoulders and back. The Valet have now added treatment rooms where massages, pedicures and waxing and other fancy stuff take place. Went there today for a treatment I've had on many occasions before in London centres, not really knowing what to expect. Well it was absolutely great, felt really well looked after and the care and professionalism was the best I've known. Plus it was cheaper and more local, so simply superb! Steve (read more)

The Valet is so much more than a barbers or a hairdressing - it is a whole experience and a great one! Immediately I walked in I was greeted by a mixture of professionalism and friendliness. The best haircut I have ever had has been there. Am also courteously offered a coffee or other drink. Stressful day at work? Long day at the office? Feeling tired and needing a freshen up? If so then try having the Valet Signature treatment (a hair wash and cut followed by a hot towel shave). Too many times I have gone into a barbers and it has been like a conveyabelt of customers. You only sit down for 5 minutes before you are moved on. The Valet is completely different. The Valet was reccommended to me by a friend and has turned out to have been the best reccommendation I have ever had in terms of hair grooming.
Excellent service, excellent facilities, excellent hair cut and all at a very reasonable fee.
I dont have much hair but I felt like we could have a very good conversation on what would suit my hair best and how best to cut it.
You can tell they really value your time rather than rushing you out the door and taking your money.

I've been twice so far: 1st time I had my hair cut by Ibrahim, 2nd time by Margaret. Ibrahim was especially attentive from the moment I arrived (greeting me, hanging my jacket and offering me a drink). He was very friendly and focused on me and my experience throughout my time there which was refreshing when some barbers give the impression that you are just another head of hair passing along a conveyor belt.
They were both really friendly and happy to explain anything you might ask about...

Everything about The Valet just oozes class and sophistication.
Its the West End on my doorstep without the prices. I had the signature deluxe given to me as a gift and will absolutely be returning. Best haircut I've ever had and the hot towek shave was relaxation personified.
All local (and localish!) men should get on board.irst class and i can't recomend them enough!

A revelation in male grooming. I used to just have a hair cut, now since I discovered The Valet, it is so much more. From the moment you walk in, everyone knows your name and you are greeted with a coffee or beer and the experience begins. The wet shave Signature is a treat and even a simple cut can be enjoyed with a friendly welcome and Sky Sports.

The Valet-Its the barbers I have always wanted to find. As soon as you walk in the friendly atmosphere is evident. You are made welcome in lovely classicly styled but modern surroundings. You get offered a drink and then the real pleasure starts- I've had a number of haircuts and three shaves.
Wow! to say I was relaxed is an understatement.
Top notch service-Friendly staff-Affordable. You emerge feeling fantastic.

All the other local barbers must be quaking in their shoes because The Valet has a simple BUT winning formula - friendly service, attention to detail, modern/comfortable salon & competitive prices - just what Addiscombe was crying out for. I have been going to the Valet for about 3mths now. The standard of service is second to none! Its good to see a company that prides themself on service and quality products. The atmosphere is one that is professial and relaxed. Its great to be able to relax with a beer when getting your haircut. The staff are very knowlegeable and its a great experience. Too often nowadays we do not give praise where praise is due. I have been going to The Valet now for approx 9 months after having been to my previous Barbers for approx 8 years. I needed a haircut quickly one day and haven't looked back since. The Valet is an upmarket experience at everyday prices. I find it very difficult to find fault. Have been going to The Valet since July and have been taking mostly signature treatment. I have found the treatment the best compared to other saloon. Have been going to Ted Baker before Valet for a year or so but since July no other Salon. Both the price, service, people is amongstthe best you could think of. Just try once and I am sure you would just end up at The Valet!!

I used to go to a barbers down the road for 16-ish years since I was a child. But they could never give me a really amazing haircut. The barbers is the best I have ever been to. The service is second to none, totally unlike the "cattle market" style high street hairdresser/barbers. I love this place , since finding it in a magazine review , I make travel to it from another borough. They guys here are a good laugh and it's a chance for us blokes so feel a good, about having a decent haircut and a coffee. You can chat sport engines , whatever. I stepped in out of curiosity and after my first experience I have decided to make this my regular barber shop. No long queues, you can even book an appointment to avoid waiting altogether.

First new hairstyle in years!
My wife told me about The Valet some time ago and only recently have I checked it out. I only wish I'd checked it out sooner! The decor is very stylish and high-end. The welcome is always warm and friendly. Most importantly, the hairdressing is excellent. My wife has always joked that no matter what I do my hair always does its own boring thing. However, The Valet has re-styled me and I am very, very pleased with the result. I am yet another convert!

Brilliant stuff at the Valet in Addiscombe. Modern shop, helpful and skilled staff and they will always fit you in even if you haven't made an appointment, although you may have to wait a while (show's how popular it is).
I first went in last June when they first opened and have been back every month since. Would never go anywhere else!

It was 3:00 p.m. on Sunday and we were going on holiday the next day. My hair was overgrown, my regular barber was closed and I coudn't find a barber that was open anywhere!

The staff were a very friendly team particularly the most recent recruit Ibrahim. The prices were very competitve and the salon was immaculate. On my first visit they made every effort to make me comfortable and the staff are all very friendly and professional. I've been looking for such a service locally and finally it's here! As well as receiving a fantastic signature treatment from George, David and George helped me to select an affordable traditional shaving kit. I'm now getting a much more satisfactory shave and at a lower ongoing cost. After a few weeks of practice, I was able to speed up my shaving technique so that it now takes around the same time as it used to take with my Gillette Fusion and my skin recovery time has sped up by around 50% thanks to the pre and post shave treatments that David and George... I was first introduced to the Valet by my boss who uses it on a weekly basis. I was preparing for a friends wedding a few months back and my boss recommended i booked for a signature treatment to get me properly groomed for the occasion. I called the Valet and they managed to fit me in at 8am on Saturday morning, the day of the wedding. I'm extremely disappointed, upset and angry.
For months I've been growing my beard and moustache in order to have a long, long narrow goatee and handlebar moustache. Rather than trust myself or my usual barber, I was persuaded to visit this "Traditional Gentleman's Barbers" offering a "classic male grooming service".
Despite making it clear I was growing them for length several times AND showing the barber a sketch of the proportions and dimensions wanted HE CUT THE ENTIRE BEARD LENGTH...

After reading your review I was so surprised as I regularly use the Valet in Addiscombe to get my beard and handle bars trimmed up and have never had a problem, in fact not only do they do an excellent trim but they also cleanse the beard for me as well with hot towels, and I take real pride with my mine being a member of the British Beard club.

<br/>I find the whole experience, service and attention to fine detail with barbering, as well as the overall quality of the shop incredible and have found it hard to compete with, even against West End shops I have visited in the past, so I can only give this place the thumbs up. It is quite possible you simply had a misunderstanding with your Barber. I have used all the male barbers at the Valet and have found them all to be pretty much on par with each other.
