“Just lost £16.00 in the transaction”

I checked online this morning to see the exchange rates from sterling to dollars and decided to go with Thomas Cook. I did not realise that the online rate was more than the in-branch rate and came out of the deal more than £16 worse off than if I'd ordered it online. It should be made clearer in Thomas Cook's advertisement that the rate will be lower in-branch. I would have ordered online and collected the money the next day instead of going in today and buying the dollars in-branch. Also,... (read more)

I have always used my bank and themn HiFX, however I found UKForex to be the best by far. Their service is excellent. I applied for an account and got a call back after 25mins - and was sending money to France within the hour! All at excellent rates and no fee. I saved a fortune - about £3K after not using HSBC.
