“Bank with last-century systems”

This bank tries to operate as an internet bank, but doesn't have the systems in place to do so. I tried to start the process of closing a savings account by logging in using the acct no, sort code and memorable name that was set up when the account was opened. I 'failed the security check', because, as I was later informed, there is no facility for logging in to a savings account - not mentioned anywhere on the site or their literature. “No joint accounts allowed. withdrawing wifes card....”

Been with bank for over 5 years. Came to detest the card loading procedure as this was hard if you were out longer than planned and in addition to being charged 12.50 a month you then pay 50p everytime you withdraw funds. Final straw was after they'd issued a new card to my wife and I they sent a further letter stating they'll be withdrawing thesecond card on account. “rewards not what they seem.”

Further to my previous review about receiving " rewards " as cash back for using the debit card at various retailers, I had my latest rewards last week, £3.34, after the weekly management fee of £2.90 had been deducted at the same time, was left with a "reward " of 44p ! “very poor customer service”

I have been affected by the co op card error today. I was unaware of this and phoned the bank about something else, before i could speak the very rude male operator demanded a transfer money to my card as it had a minus amount, when i question the payment taken today as i thought it had been taken twice, i was told repeatedly i didnt understand banking, i had spent the money, so i should pay, he mocked my shopping habits! I was referred to this bank originaly after having had to go on a debt management plan.On the whole I suppose I could say that I have been reasonabley satisfied, but the service leaves a great deal to be desired at times and for which you are being charged for.When I pay in a cheque for the account at Barclays , on a Thursday, the money is not available on my STB account until after 5.15pm on the Monday of the following week after.Regardless of it being 7 working days, that is in total 11… Read Full Review

“Best Bank Ever ”

I opened up the account in 2011. I got a Prepaid Mastercard and a Current Account. I pay £12.50 a month, for Premier Banking. I can use my card anywhere in the world without any problems. I was in Thailand in August and money went missing from my Debit Mastercard while I was on holiday. “incredibly slow - rubbish!”

I applied to open a 3 year savings bond 7 days ago - online which is the only way. The bank wrote asking for security documentation, which I sent off on the same day. I haven't got the documentation back yet, and I find out that the 3 year bond was withdrawn yesterday and my account not opened. “Bad Customer Service and High Charges”

I entered into an IVA and this bank was recommended to me by the provider. Considering I was put in financial difficulties and had to resort to an IVA I am lost to why they would recommend a bank that charges £12.50 monthly fee, on top of that they charge 50p for every cash withdrawal. i pay £9.95 for mine with ClearCash (less than what i incurred from my old bank in overdraft fees!) and ive never had a problem with loading it via various means. The other beneficial thing which may appeal to you is their Creditbuilder tool

Was recommended this bank but it is in fact the worst bank ever to date that i have used. The employees clearly work from a script and are very unhelpful. Considering you pay a high monthly fee for this account it's all about charges and poor customer service with this account. Your changed to take money from a cash machine, Your charged to use the card online as it appears to a lot of companies as a credit card and not a charge card as STB claim. You spend 10mins answering a lot of security questions asked by unhelpful people. I wouldn't even bother speaking to customer service. Paid in 1000 pounds over a month ago for my rent. Direct debit not paid due to insufficient funds! Told by the bank that on occasion money does get lost and an investigation would need to be carried out. In the meantime I have an eviction notice! Been banking for over a year got asked to change password changed my password but been in a middle of moving house and forgot password they are wanting me to send my passport and driving licence away to them for several days. I can't get access to any money and getting no help at all very poor! Once I get my account back I'll be moving bank not good enough especially when your paying money for the service every month... “Bad customer service”

This bank is only for the desperate people who do not have any other options. Apart from charging people with credit issues £12.99 a month the customer service is bad and the transfer times slow, there processes from automated lines to trying to get through to the call centre are terrible. I've been with this bank for 4 years now and cannot really fault them. They have been a little slow with transactions but I have noticed that their service is improving. My son transfered money over a thousand pounds from his account into my barclay bank as his card was loaded and wouldnt let him use it !! “Incompetent, jobsworth and uncaring”

I was with this 'bank' for a couple of years but found them increasingly arrogant and uncaring. They run a NON-RISK basic account (which YOU will pay for). But they ignore the fact that you pay for this basic product. YOU are a customer! There are better alternatives out there - THINKMONEY for one. Sad that this organisation established by a reputable organisation Arbuthnott has forgotten its roots and would appear to be chasing profit above all else. “Pile of brown stuff”

Feel like I've gone back in time. "We are not a clearing bank" if I hear that one more time I'll scream . Totally useless in everything they do. “Everything is slow”

The title says pretty much everything. The customer service is ok, the internet banking is ok. However, payments usually take 3 days to reach other peoples accounts unless you phone them and ask for them to arrange a faster payment, which you pay .40 for the privilege. Everything with this account costs money. Withdrawing cash, sending money quickly, and of course the monthly charge. Your much better off with one of the many high street banks basic account.
