“Excellent service and communication”

I recently booked with Major Travel for a flight I have in August and, after receiving my confirmation email, wanted to clarify a few things on my booking. I called them up and, after reading some reviews here, was expecting the worst. I couldn't have been more wrong. I spoke to an extremely lovely agent called Andi who resolved my issues quickly and did so in incredibly pleasant manner. Now I just can't wait for my trip and I can't thank Major enough for being friendly and efficient. (read more)

“Awful Customer Service”

I've never met such a condescending customer service operative in my life. Asking a simple question was met with a response that you'd expect from a hormonal teenager. Perhaps if their customer communications were clearer to begin with people wouldn't have to ask what they clearly preceive to be stupid questions. I shall not be wasting my time with them again. I booked a long awaited trip to New York on Saturday. I was so eager to get it booked once i had the money that i went to kayak(dot)co(dot)uk, searched for my preferred flight dates, picked the cheapest flights and booked, without much thought to it. The top ten cheapest were all with Major Travel and although i hadn't heard of them before i guessed that since they were on Kayak they must be ok. I'm nervous about this too! I have paid etc but no confirmation e ticket and the airline says that it will only hold it until tonight! Should I call major tomorrow if there is still no response?

Just check your junk box it may be there, but yes if theres nothing there then call Major Travel in the morning. It should all be fine. I think maybe they can only send the etickets etc in office hours so if you book outside those times you dont get it straight away. Thats wht i thought anyway. I was very nervous but all turned out fine :)

“Major Dissappontment”

I booked or thought that I had booked my tickets to India,as I did not receive a confirmation email for the payment, I called them up, the staff were extremely rude, unhelpful and lacked social skill to talk to people. I would not recommend this to anyone , I would rather ask people to stay away fro major travel. (read more)

I booked this cruise on behalf of a friend and myself. It went up in price by £99 by the time I booked it but still was a great bargain. There were a few things I had to check so made 4 phone calls to check information. Was told all would be well. It went beautifully from start to end. One exception was the initial flt was to Genoa at 10 a,m, this was changed to 7.10a.m. to Milan and then coach (2 hours) to Genoa but that was the only change. Dear Mr Triggs, I have made a booking through Major Travel to South Africa on the 15 December to January. I received three emails and three emails only. These three emails confirmed my booking with my itinerary, booking reference and e-ticket. Upon arrival at the airport I was told to get in contact with my travel agent as my ticket was void. I began to think Major were like all the others after trying the web site a few times, with deals coming and going, and a disappointing phone call to check availability which resulted in a much higher price being offered. However a last try for an interesting combination of flights to New Zealand resulted in saving around £200 each on the standard flights with Singapore Air. I spent a significant amount of time trawling for best prices for flights to USA. Major Travel were always in the top 2/3 and yes I did check compared to the flight company websites. When we came to book Major won the day because they didn't suddenly create additional overhead payments at the point you went to pay which a number of the others did. Don't have anything to do with them. Went on to Major Travel website following price search, was offered 'live' competitive prices with all flight details etc to select from, went through the selection process, filled in my details - then the site sent me an error message, asking me to contact them. Dont bother with this company! I E mailed to enquire about the flight price I had found on their web site(£461pp) just to check that the price would not be going up after I had booked and given payment details, which is often the case with these sites. I had an e mail telling me that the price was on the quote, quite short and quite rude I thought! Absolutely horrible service. I've never dealt with customer service as bad as Major Travel. Had to change my flight as my grandfather passed away. Major Travel was awful. Don't use them. They care about making money and nothing else. The agent told me quite sarcastically to buy a new ticket. (read more)

Was going to book through them, but rang them up and was given incorrect information regarding bassinets for infants (spoke to airline beforehand which is why I knew she was wrong). The woman I spoke to sounded pretty stupid to be honest. I won't be booking through them.
Gave them 2 stars as she did send me an invoice and tried to call me. (read more)

<br/>Why would you ring the airline get the information and then test that out.
<br/>To save time and therefor money you should have explained that you had spoken to the airline and they said.....

Major Travel are the WORST TRAVEL AGENCY I have ever dealt with. They lie about airline prices on their website and then quote and send invoices at low fares for confirmed bookings..and then at the time of payment they increase the price and tell you bad luck it was a mistake ..pay up or find another flight! They never return emails or phone calls and are very rude when you dare to question why the price has increased more than £300 than they quoted you..I would NEVER deal with this agency...
