To all of you who say the Careington Dental Plan is a rip off it's not .. you probably just didn't go over the plan and follow all the rules!! You have to go to a provider that honors the plan! If you go to a dentist that honors the plan but does not honor the discount, this is Something that needs to be reported to Careington b/c that dental office is under contract and they have to honor the discounts.. they can get in to trouble if they don't. Careington pretty much covers all the... (read more)

Carington 500 only covers 1 dentist so if you don't like it, then lump it. They lie and push a bunch of dental work on you that you don't need and you are forced after paying carington to either allow it all or lose all the money you pay to carington. It's better to find a kind dentist you can say no to. Their x ray machines look fancy but dont work. They think that you are their slave. We traveled to 3 different dentists and another was a false one. We traveled over 100 miles to go to a... (read more)

I called in got my carington plan. But before I had the plan a dentist was charging me for 9 cavities. Between $250 and $371 each one. After I got the Carington 500 plan I searched up a dentist in their list loved the place and said I only needed 3 of those cavities to actually be filled and the rest could be taken care of myself by flossing and perscribed me a tooth paste. From my regular dentist it would of been $2400 but the the Carington dentise for 3 cavities it was on average $221 and... (read more)

My ederly Mom needed dentures and after pricing dentist including the dentist i chose off the plan was just too epensive. I chose Careington because of the plan cost and the fact that there is no waiting period. I can say I was very happy with my choice. My mom had her extractions and has her dentures and we are very pleased. Also the dental provider I chose, Dr Campbell in Pasadena, allows a payment plan with no interest. It's a win-win situation for us. you do have to do your reserch to... (read more)

At first this seemed amazing, I found myself telling friends and family about this plan and how they need to try it. When I went to visit the dentist, one I had chose from the list that they have provided I was quoted different prices. The sales rep assured me that the prices he quoted are set. I found this information to be very misleading. This plan is only good for individuals who do not need a lot of work done, and would be more beneficial to those who need it for a check up here and... I didn't have dental insurance due to job loss. Out of deseperation and after reading many reviews, I decided to go with Careington 500 plan. I found a dentist the next day and went in, had a tooth extracted, an exam and a bite-wing x-ray and only payed $79. That was $100 less than what I was quoted at my normal dentist's office. Although, I have only used it once, I can say that it is definitely a good deal for what you pay. Not as good as insurance, but close enough. I definitely think it... (read more)

Here is my recommendation to everybody based on my personal experience.
The discounts mentioned in their website apply only for the GENERAL DENTIST. If you go to any specialist like Oral Surgeon, Orthodontist, Prosthodontists etc, they will give you only 20% discount. And there is a disclaimer in their website which says that you get 20% discounts with specialist. In their website, they have mentioned they you get 50%-70% discounts for Oral Surgeries, tooth extractions etc, that applies only...

My husband and I have been using this plan for over a year, and I love it. In the last 6 months alone, we have saved almost $4,000 on our dental costs -- and that's just at the general dentist!
Strengths: $6.95/mo. for individual, Starts immediately, No maximums, Fully discloses fee schedule online (only one I've seen to do so)
Weaknesses: After becoming a member, you must relate to the headquarters -- not so bad, but you do go through an automated voice system at first.
