“Simple money management”

Written on: 08/05/2013

I've been with CardOne for 4 months and it works for me, once you get used to the slight idiosyncrasies of this type of banking. I haven't had credit problems, but I quickly needed an account where I could manage my own money and keep it separate from our household accounts. The BEST thing is that all the call centre operatives are based in the UK and I rarely have to hold the line. They are helpful and fully explain everything. Setting up the account was easy - although they did try to... (read more)

“Excellent for people who can't get a 'normal' account”

I have been with CardOneBanking for 2 years and love the way the account works. The call centers are all based in the UK (Chester I think) So communication with them is simple, clear and stress free. Highly recommend this account for people who have bad credit or have suffered bankruptcy. (read more)

“Excellent alternative to Banks”

Written on: 03/08/2012 by bobby123zx

I used to pay a fortune in bank charges, £12.50 a month is nothing in comparison. The card work most places, however some places dont accept credit cards. They text me when cheques clear and transfers arrive. I can never go over drawn!!!! I go online and can pay bills etc then they text me to confirm its happened. I can drag out £2000 in cash from nat west with ID. I think this card one is absolutely f@@king brilliant. Nat west even overpaid me when i shut the account, i paid the cheque in... (read more)

“TOTAL PESTS”

Written on: 10/05/2012 by ihatecreditagencies (1 review written)

After applying,i told them i had no CC or debit card to pay the £12.50 upfront, they said fine pay it by text message by texting the word PAY to 60777,then today i've had 6 phone calls in 3 hours from them harassing me to PAY......JOKERS. All this hassle with bank accounts is caused by SCUM credit agencies who HAVE THE FINAL SAY ON WHO HAS AN ACCOUNT OR NOT,this lets in scum companies like card one to exploit.... (read more)

If you are considering joining Card One Banking, my very strong advice to you would be 'DONT' - not unless you want to end up paying £12.50 a month to them so that they can totally mess you around. Customer service is absolutely appalling. I was left stranded 200 miles from home on New Years Eve last year, unable to pay for a hotel, or to buy a train ticket home - or even food due to a 'technical fault' preventing wages being loaded onto the cards. When explaining it was actually minus 12... (read more)

“I tried this as an alternative to a basic bank account...”

Written on: 05/03/2010

I tried this as an alternative to a basic bank account as i had been declared bankrupt and couldn't open an account with a normal bank. It does cost £12 per month, but its either that or no bank account. and it saves me money every month as i used to pay for bounced direct debits that i couldnt afford to pay, card one banking doesn't charge you if you can't pay a bill and there is no overdraft, so i can only spend what money i have. the online banking service is slow though! but customer...
