In the 1960s, the owner of the Daily Express stated that he ran the newspaper "purely for the purpose of making propaganda". Although the paper has since changed ownership, it still remains little more than a mouthpiece for the bigoted opinions of its owner and editors. The Daily Express has absolutely no problems with twisting or even making up facts to suit its agenda. The Daily Express also has an annoying tendency to promote itself within its own articles, with sentences like "X praised the Daily Express for...". It has a very biased view on certain subjects such as immigration and the European Union, and has been known to fabricate stories on these subjects merely to drum up support for its so-called Crusade (little more than a marketing stunt). Long story cut short, if you're buying the Daily Express, you're basically paying for propaganda.
