After booking online, the follow up phone call was fine. All booking info agreed. Very nice man who I felt was very helpful at the time. Received a confirmation email and voucher for transfers but nothing else. ..... No invoice no flight info no accommodation info, no confirmations. I called 3 times over the next 4 days to be told each time I would be sent by email. The third call revealed they had got my email address incorrect, which was amended, however still received no emails. Not sure how… Read Full Review

“Deep disapointment with Holiday gems financial dealings”

I have been deeply disappointed by HOLIDAY GEMS with the whole financial conduct of my holiday booking. My holiday has been cancelled due to flight cancellation by Monarch and when I asked for a refund, Holiday Gems offered to pay £1142.71. This is £246.29 (£258.18 if card charges are included) less than I have paid them. They have given no detailed breakdown of of this charge, despite being asked for it. we have just returned from our holiday in lanzarote at los tulipanes which you upgraded our apartment, the apartment was clean but the overall look of the old dirty oven and fridge didnt do the place any justice the bathroom wasnt much better with a rusty looking area around the bath these areas in need of an upgrade and torn towels left out in bathroom… Read Full Review

“decent price but beware of extra costs!!”

I think if holiday gems offer a service to book online they should give people the price that they agreed on there! The confirmation phone call i received after booking online tried to add an extra £34pp on when infact i monitored the flights and they had dropped by £5pp!!! The increase in cost was then blamed on hotel prices going up but when i said travel republic was doing the same price they managed to then book my hotel for the price that was originally agreed anyway!! This appears to be an online order and no payment is taken when the order is submitted. The orders processed are on a request only basis. Once orders are received by our office, should we not be able to honour the booking at the web price we will call the client to offer any suitable alternatives which is then up to the client to accept or not. No payment is taken until our client agrees to the new costs. Any portion of the elements requested may result in a change of costs and/or availability and this is a matter over which we have no control. We do, however offer a price match for a like for like booking on the same day and it would have been this service that was implemented. We do thank you for the comments regarding the sales agent

When I asked where the extra costs had come from it was blamed on the flights.when I explained that the same flights had decreased by £5pp it was then blamed on lowcostholidays going bump!! Why advertise the price on online if you can't fulfill it? I only got the original price i was quoted for the hotel because I threatened to go through Travel republic instead!!

I have had excellent customer service, the agent who has helped me on several occasions to understand the flight website, and has been more than helpful and was very cheerful on the telephone. The only disappointment I had was receiving an email telling me that my payment was "seriously overdue" when in fact it was only due to be paid that day! loved the easy use website, loved the way that you can really customize your holiday to suit yourself. bit disappointed with the amount of money that was added on after i had booked and paid, this happened with two different holidays. spoke to two different young ladies who were both very helpful and knowledgeable. Booked ideal holiday on line on Sunday am. Sunday pm phone call from you saying holiday had gone up in price by £34.00pp. Not much but on principal NO. You should close your Web page on Saturday and Sunday and update prices. Since the price shown on Sunday was apparently Friday's price. It should have shown Monday's price of the holiday. After booking with this company they tried to inflate the price on 2 consecutive days, Were 3 hours late returning a call even after agreeing a time.
