“Doors were fine but not the service”

we are self building a new home and ordered doors from savoy timber but would now stick to the national merchants suppliers we have previously used since savoy timber first ignored the delivery instructions and I paid extra for next day delivery which would have been the monday when we were on site. We were not there on tuesday and I had to arrange to be there and I don't drive so my daughter had to get me there. They were delivered by a corrier which was one lad and a hand opperated pallet lifter to the kerb side as he was not allowed to set foot on my drive. My daughter and I had to carry each door in the house they were heavy and her children had to be strapped into the car seats while we did this. The corrier only has a 20 minute slot for each delivery so he was about to go when we got there so this was overall a bad service compared to the well equipped delivery service we get from the national builders merchants

Good morning firstly could I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the courier company that we use for certain national deliveries. Our business is under new management, we would love to make amends to any bad experience you have had previously, as an aside we have now extended the geographical scope of our own fleet deliveries and as such deliver a majority of all our orders and we have plans to extend this to all orders in time please feel free to contact our new e-commerce manager directly with any enquiries kind regards Savoy Timber

“Worktops”

Ordered 3 worktops with upstands. On the day of delivery the order turned up but was in complete and what was delivered had been damaged. When you phone customer services you have to provide pictures of the damage and then email them before they agree a replacement, although you are protected by law so this is a waste of time as they have to replace damaged goods brought online. The Consumer Rights Act states that the seller is responsible for goods up until they are delivered to the consumer. Any damage or breakage en route is the responsibility of the seller. If you purchased your goods online you are also covered by the Consumer Contracts Regulations, which make it clear that the seller is responsible for the condition of the goods until the goods are received by the consumer, or by someone else they have nominated to receive them. Some items turned up the next day but my order was still missing items. Missing item was delivered with the replacement worktop this was 7 days later and after a phone call. Will not be recommending to friends.

“Returns policy”

I recently made a couple of purchases from this company one of which I subsequently found I no longer needed.I attempted to swap it for a similarly priced item but was told I had to arrange to get the original product back to them first!? Surely the driver bringing the replacement item could take the other item back? Apparently not.Its either a more complicated transaction than I'm envisaging...or their no quibble returns policy is fiction.

“Fitting day”

The day they came for fitting we were very nervous due to many other contractors not fulfilling their part of the contract. We were really happy with the fitting of our internal glazed door, and would have used them for external doors if we hadn't already ad them fitted by another company!

“Staff Service (Some)”

No problems with stock & availability, Preston & Wigan stores are used quite often for a cross section of materials. Why are some of the staff so against customer service in terms of just being pleasant and at times quite ignorant in terms of decent service? They are not all the same but the comments do apply to both stores, if I get this lack of service then I take my business elsewhere – not a difficult task to offer basic services,
