“great boiler”

★★★★★

written by Beasley156 on 19/05/2018

had a remeha combi in my first house and it was faultless, got a baxi avanta system boiler in my current house and i'm still a fan. i make my living as a gas engineer and never come across any of these boilers that have been unreliable when fitted properly with filters and set up correctly. if only baxi still made these instead of the outdated boilers they churn out now

“7 years no fault”

★★★★★

written by saffy90 on 16/05/2017

Pretty good boiler had it fitted 7 years ago, no problems, we have a huge house with 17 radiators and it works year in , year out, I did have a problem with overpressure vent when hot as the internal expansion vessel was not big enough, but thats a fitting issue, I bought a external vessel for 25£ and fitted it to the hot water line, never been a problem since. A lot of the time its dirty water, corrosion that kills boilers and gums up valves, flush out the system before you get a new boiler and add plenty of inhibitor. Ensure you have a magentic trap and clean it once a year. The boilers are so cheap nowadays, they dont last 20 years like the old ones, but they are more efficient, so cheaper, lighter boilers etc,

“Great boilers”

★★★★★

written by Boilerbusters on 13/06/2015

Need servicing properly on the fourth year and 4 parts changed .run on a CLEAN system with filter this boiler will last 15 years with no trouble. People think you fit a boiler for a £100 fit and never spend a penny on it after that and think it will last forever and when it does eventually breakdown it's the boiler that is "crap"! If you have a rolls Royce and you spend no money on upkeep and it breaks down is it rubbish! I have fitted over 100 remehas over past 8years all are still working fine. Don't blame the boiler, blame the installer and the so called boiler breakdown engineers. These boilers are made to last as they are made from brass copper and stainless steel not plastic and aluminium.

You are obviously either paid by them or make a lot of money for charging top price for rubbish boilers.

Neither! I just know how to install a boiler properly onto a clean system but clearly my criticism of installers and poor installation appears to have hit a nerve with you!

“E5 Error is simple to solve ”

★★★★★

written by Galbraithxk447 on 11/12/2014

I am a heating engineer and have always fitted remeha boilers without any issues , the dreaded e5 is all down to ignition and gas mixture , no1 check the thermal front insulation plate is sound and not damaged buy a service engineer who damaged it , check burner tube seal is ok , and last but not least if all else is ok change ignition transformer . as that will be the issue as long as set up properly , I go to a few of them and they have been serviced by CLUELESS who have caused 90% of the issues . always down to bad installation and poor servicing apart from the odd ignition module , my family all have them over 8 years now and not a blip out of one .

Hi, we are experiencing e5 and e4 errors and have replaced the parts that you mention and are no further to identifying the cause. Are you able to offer any further guidance?
Thanks

depending on how much you have spent it might be easier to whip it out and replace it with a Worcester vaillant or glow worm, but power flush radiators and and magnetic filter like magna clean professional or tps fernox magnetic filter

“AVANTA PLUS 39C”

★★★★★

written by Topst on 10/12/2014

My boiler was installed 3.5 years ago and it has provided excellent service during that time. My main reason for selecting this boiler was the excellent amount of hot water it provided (15.9 l/m) which surpassed all its competitors at that time. Like many modern boilers it is 'self diagnostic' and this in itself can be problematic.

“Avanta Plus 28C”

★★★★★

written by Bungle666 on 05/11/2012

Installed 6 weeks ago by my local heating man on his recommendation! Very nice quiet operation, SUPER hot rads and baking hot water delivered at full mains pressure! I have a Salus RF controller and the whole lot works perfectly! The old glo-worm boiler we had was fairly small but the Avanta fitted right into the tiny gap with no problems, and looks sleek and modern sat in the kitchen. Overall, im over the moon with it!

“three years in and very happy!”

★★★★★

written by phillyman on 12/09/2012

Had the Remeha Avanta Plus 28c installed after recommendation by my heating engineers as part of a new heating system and liked the that fact it came with a 5 year guarantee. Heats the house brilliantly during the winter and we run our shower of it as well and it gives us a constant flow of hot water even on the longest of showers!

★★★★★

written by on 03/05/2011

I had a Remaha Avanta Plus installed over 2 years ago and it has performed without fault since then.I have it serviced by a competant gas safe engineer who says it is the quietest and easiest boiler he has ever serviced. It produces an excellent amount of hot water on demand and runs my central heating with ease, thats eight rads, and some are very large. All in all an excellent package thats hard to beat at the price.

★★★★★

written by on 19/10/2010

I have installed these boilers for about 4 years now, and had to call remeha once because of a problem. then they had someone out next day. i have probably fitted 40-50 of these and all customers have been pleased with the size, looks and hot water flow rate.
i have fitted one in my own house as im that impressed and think the other top boilers makers are more money for no better boiler!

“the avanta range of boilers from Remeha are the muts...”

★★★★★

written by on 19/02/2010

the avanta range of boilers from Remeha are the muts nuts. i've been installing them now for over a year switching from the market leading manufacture!! they are small, light, quiet, well built, easy to work on, well priced for its high spec, easy to use when you work out the digital display. over all i would say they are the the best buy on the market at present. they sell combi, system and heat only boilers. The combis they offer go from 24kw up to 39kw and all boilers are the same size!!! i think they are the smallest boiler out there. installers of the UK have a look at this unit. you'll be inpressed!!!

I have a Remeha Avanta 28c and the problem I'm having is that if I run the hot water with or without the heating being on the boiler cuts out and flashes E7. When you turn the hot tap on the water comes hot for a few seconds then goes cold, and when I check the boiler E7 is flashing until its reset. Running the heating on its own is okay. The pressure is around 1 1/2 bars and all the radiators get hot top to bottom. Does anyone have any advice?

I have the same problem. Moved in in January. Boiler hadn't been serviced for some years. Had service done and was told there was a blockage. They replaced a part but said there was still a blockage and they would come back. They didn't come back. Total cost £183. Are they trying to tell me it isn't worth repairing? Heating works fine, but very little hot water.
Report this content tjn74 Written on: 20/05/2015
I have this exact same problem too! Heating works fine, but pressure goes up to 3 bar. If you try to run hot water, it gets boiling hot for about 3 minutes then goes freezing cold. When I check the boiler it shows code E7. When both heating and water are off for a period of time the pressure goes below 0.5 bar, so have to top up with the inlet valve. Have a plumber on the case who thinks it is either the PCB or heat exchange vessel. Would be interested to know if you now have yours fixed? I'm fed up of cold showers after 3 weeks!

I'm no engineer but I'd suspect the diverter valve. I had trouble with the valve motor, which was changed by Heateam. It means that the boiler is heating up the water, but not "diverting" it to the central heating. Alternatively have you tried bleeding the rads. If it's been off all summer perhaps air has got in? I've had so many visits from heateam now that I know most of the engineers on first name terms. Good luck

Hi, We unfortunately had this boiler installed 4 years ago, From the second day we had E4 and E5 fault codes come up, we are covered by the gas board so called them out, When the engineer arrived he said (whatever made you buy one of these BLOODY boilers?)they are nothing but trouble, and so it turned out, over the three years that we had the boiler we called the gas board out more than twenty times! we had every fault code it has come up and many many parts replaced, over two Christmases we were without heating or hot water awaiting parts, (lucky we had a log burner)in the end we had to replace it with a Worcester Boiler which we have had now for a year and no problems, (Touch Wood )Ps. If I remember correctly those codes are to do with ignition ?

If you have followed the manual and if there is no warranty on the boiler, consider calling out the service engineer again. A company called Heateam specialise in Remeha boiler repairs.
