“lasted nearly 5 years in tenanted property before E5 error”

Written on: 28/03/2015 by Milian (1 review written)

I was advised to buy this combi boiler nearly 5 years ago , alternative was Valliant. It is a powerful efficient boiler- had a new bathroom installed and the bathroom installer said it was producing too much hot water!, -produces good hot water . After 4 years and 10 months tenants are getting E5 error message. Intermittent fault. Called Rehema re 5 year warranty and they say its only for parts£300+ charge for call out to fit E5 kit. Rehema (was Broag) have now been taken over by Baxi , who… Read Full Review

Had this fitted to a rental property. It has given a non stop supply of E4/E5 errors just like all the other bad reviews. I've had so many parts replaced there's too many to mention. AVOID like the plague!!!… Read Full Review

“Been a nightmare!”

Written on: 17/01/2015 by Rex1962 (1 review written)

Had the same problems as everyone else on here E4 E5 & E6. Had the PCB changed, ionisation electrode changed, gaskets changed & CO2 was correct. Used to turn it off at the mains at night as it was in the airing cupboard in the bedroom & used to make a whining noise when there was an error. Used to keep topping the pressure up to 2bar as it was dropping all the time although there were no visible leaks. About 6 wks ago turned it back on after another day of resetting it a dozen times but didn't… Read Full Review

“E5, E4 & even E10!”

Written on: 15/01/2015 by RossiItaliangk186 (1 review written)

Had my Remeha Avanta Plus 24s serviced every year since it was installed just five and a half years ago. Boiler had broken down on New Year's Day (although as I'd been away for Christmas, it could have been broken for longer) with E5 fault, turned off & re-set several times & got it going again. Had E5 fault several times since. Thought I'd get its next service (due February/March) done early and fault fixed at the same time, but Remeha said no - couldn't come out to do a service (90 pounds)… Read Full Review

“Nothing but errors.”

Written on: 12/01/2015 by iamwallis (1 review written)

We had one of these installed in 2008. And over the last couple of years its been a bit temprimental. With E4 and E5 poping up now and again. In the last couple of months I have been getting errors daily. We have replaced seals electrode an now the PCB, This boiler just seems to be a money pit. Remeha even suggested we get the Gas govener changed by national grid, This was done but made no diffrence the boiler was showing E4 two hours later. DON'T buy one of these… Read Full Review

“Nothing but problems with this boiler!!!”

Written on: 08/01/2015 by ColeEdmondson1994 (1 review written)

After moving in to an older house that needed a new central heating system I was advised that these boilers were the up & coming make & I should definitely get one. Trusting the plumber I decided on a 39c and had it installed in April 2008. In less than a year the problems started with... Yep, the E5 error message. During the course go the 5 year warranty engineers have been out 9 times for the same fault. Each time it's ok for a few months then straight back to the same error message. A… Read Full Review

“remeha 35c boiler is rubbish”

Written on: 02/01/2015

Inherited this boiler as part of house purchase, now its 3 winters i've been here, this has been the worst. Often needed re-setting even in the summer when on dhw. This christmas eve it finally decided that even rebooting wasn't going to work, now been without water and heating for10 days 3 engineer visits, (national gas company). Engineer coming in the morning to fit new pcb, control unit and leads. Total cost once this done approx £1400 and no garunteess, good job its insured. Engineer… Read Full Review

“E5 Error is simple to solve ”

Written on: 11/12/2014 by Galbraithxk447 (1 review written)

I am a heating engineer and have always fitted remeha boilers without any issues , the dreaded e5 is all down to ignition and gas mixture , no1 check the thermal front insulation plate is sound and not damaged buy a service engineer who damaged it , check burner tube seal is ok , and last but not least if all else is ok change ignition transformer . as that will be the issue as long as set up properly , I go to a few of them and they have been serviced by CLUELESS who have caused 90% of the… Read Full Review

“AVANTA PLUS 39C”

Written on: 10/12/2014 by Topst (1 review written)

My boiler was installed 3.5 years ago and it has provided excellent service during that time. My main reason for selecting this boiler was the excellent amount of hot water it provided (15.9 l/m) which surpassed all its competitors at that time. Like many modern boilers it is 'self diagnostic' and this in itself can be problematic… Read Full Review

“Whatever happened to Customer Service?”

Written on: 13/11/2014 by IvanEllovanich (1 review written)

I bought an Avanta 24C boiler in September 2010 and it has behaved well. However, it recently started flagging up an E5 error message with increasing frequency, to the point where it is now happening around half a dozen times a day! The boiler has been serviced annually by British Gas who have been unable to repair the fault. We agreed it is a warranty issue and I should pursue it with Baxi. I called their office on 7/11/14 and explained the problem. The lady I spoke to quickly confirmed that… Read Full Review

“Errors Errors and more Errors”

Written on: 19/10/2014 by Bell10 (1 review written)

What a piece of junk! Am so fed up paying for engineers to come out on E4 and E5 error codes. Will work for a month then trips constantly for days, no heating no hot water! Steer well clear of this junk. My boiler is only 3 years old and planning to change it to something that actually is fit to be called a boiler… Read Full Review

WE HAVE PERSONALLY WRITTEN TO RAMEHA AND CALLED SEVERAL TIMES, ONLY TO BE IGNORED. OUR ENGINEER HAD THE SAME RESPONSE. COME ON REMEHA - ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY, WE HAVE PAID FOR YOUR BOILERS YET REMEHA HAVE BROKEN THIS CONTRACT BY SUPPLYING INFERIOR GOODS… Read Full Review

“NO TO REMEHA!”

Written on: 13/10/2014 by haHall217 (1 review written)

Had my Remeha installed in 2008 worked fine for until 2010 and then had nothing but problems. Is's the usual E5 ERROR CODE! My heating engineer has replaced just about every part in this boiler and still the problem arrises every winter when we try to use the heating. Our engineer called Remeha on numerous occasions only to be hung up on after stating the problem. It has left us freezing in winter for long periods of time including Christmas and has meant we had to ship our baby off to… Read Full Review

“CONSTANT ERRORS FROM DAY ONE”

Written on: 30/09/2014 by boilerforsale (1 review written)

We had this boiler fitted in 2009 and have had nothing but trouble with it since. As other people have remarked it flashes up E4, E5 and even E6, infact its got more E numbers than a cheap ready meal!! We have been in touch with Remeha (2014) and they are not interested so we are cutting our losses and buying a different boiler. Not prepared to spend any more on it… Read Full Review

“Would give a fat zero if possible”

Written on: 25/09/2014

Paid to replace existing boiler in 2011, and has broken down every year since. Spent £100s repairing this thing. The 'warranty' repairs cost £167 a time, when direct with manufacturer, and they are useless. The original installer swore by these, I think he must have been on some kind of commission. Will never trust the engineers word again, and will be sure to look online for reviews. Will never buy Remeha again… Read Full Review

“Try This ”

Written on: 23/04/2014 by Mort56Owl (1 review written)

Had my boiler about 4 years , yes had the E5 problem a couple of times , each time the Engineer played around and got it going at a cost. The last one came and said all he,d done was switch off completely , top the water pressure up , switch back on and when the E5 shows press the R reset button. Ive now done this successfully 3 times after the E5 warning has shown. So "touch wood" Ive been ok since . Seems like the boiler needs to have the water pressure up at about 2 or 3 ? works for me… Read Full Review
