“Worst customer service ive ever dealt with! ”

Absolutely awful company, I applied online and was told my application had been referred for further checks and would hear in 7-10 days time. Never heard a thing back after 2 weeks so I called them up. Customer services in Bangalore or some other third world city were awful half the time they couldnt even understand the question i was asking them. “Absolutely shocking service”

Received a barclaycard to pay off a next account and first I was holding about 45 mins on my mobile !!!!! Then somebody finally answered and I set up the balance transfer to find out later that the transfer had never even been done !! Genuinely terrible service. Had a card with them for 12 years, changed address online last week, made a few purchases this week, they then block my card without warning, and then when I ring them and go through (no exaggeration) about 20 security questions about the account, say I have to go to a Barclays branch for visual verification. “Poor standards all along”

Barclaycard are pretty bad in the customer service department. You will get through to a foreign call centre, and be dealt with with someone with just a tiny grasp of English. They will 90% of the time not understand what you are asking, but will blunder on and try to help you anyway often making matters worse. Why oh why do large companies like this still try to save a few quid outsourcing their customer service to people who cannot communicate. “Don't recognise log in details”

I have only used the credit card online service twice and its awful!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have tried to log in recently and for someone bizarre reason it does not recognise my log in details, I have changed them twice through the call centre. “barclaycard initial & Platinum Card”

i applied for the initial visa as i had a 35% card with another lender as i was new to the credit scene. after 6 months of paying my balance in full i asked for a limit increase and they increased it. with the increase i was able to close my other credit card and not over commited myself with other credit cards. 2 months later i was told i was eligable for another platinum card with them with the added bonus of the interest free period for purchases etc. Thank you barclaycard the only card… Read Full Review

“Refreshingly good customer service”

I have had a few different cards and have cancelled them at various times either due to customer service or a rate change. I have today that whilst I have had reason to ring barclaycard customer services a few times, I have always been impressed by the quality of their staff and how reasonable they are. “Terrible”

I noted charges on my bill. I contacted them and completed the paperwork for them to investigate the charges. They completed their investigation and advised me the charges were reoccurring and must deal with the company posting the charges. I contacted the company charging my credit card and they said they could not help me. I again contacted barclay's and spoke to someone in the fraud department. my dad applied for and was approved for a card, got the pin right away but after a month, i emailed about the card and no response. 5 more emails and no response. dad is hard of hearing so he hasnt called but what excuse do that have for ignoring 6 emails? no customer service, we cant even get them to reply to cancel the card. they need to close up shop if this is the best they can do. ill never apply for a card with them and ill never recommend them to anyone… Read Full Review

“Customer service at it's worst!”

I recently paid off my balance on my card of $1200. While making the online payment their website crashed. I called to see if payment went through and was told it did not. I then made the payment online again. The $1200 was deducted from my checking account paying the card off in full. “Worst Customer Service”

This bank has by far the worst customer service. I had a question about my annual interest rate, and phoned customer service about possibly getting a more competitive interest rate. “18 month free financing, but watch out!”

This is regarding BarcIaycard Visa. I purchased a few apple computers. Apple setup the financing which was 18 months interest free if paid completely during the 18 months. I requested equal monthly payments. Got the card, saw that it wasn’t correct and was only setup for the required minimum monthly payment and not the minimum monthly payment for the 18 month free financing. Hi,
I recently just bought an $1100 apple macbook using this card. I don't want to run into the same problem since I thought I was also going to do be automicallly enrolled in the 18 months free financing. Any advice on how I can avoid getting penalized and setting this up correctly?

Divide the amount you financed into 18 months or 16 to be safe and then pay that amount or a little over that amount each month until you pay it off. Pay close attention to your credit card statement either online or that you receive from Barclay's. A credit card company is not going to bend over backwards and help you avoid the interest payments. That is how they make money. It's not hard to figure out how much you need to pay each month to figure out how to meet the 18 month interest free financing. Just be sure to include any additional monthly charges that the card might add to your balance.

Applied for a Barclaycard Platinum - and after a while a card arrived. So I phoned the number to activate the card and they tell me the account has been closed! Because I made the mistake of moving house in November and the credit reference agencies they use apparently only update their records every 6 months, they think I'm a bad risk. if you are thinking of purchasing an apple product with the one year no interest plan through the barclaycard you better be prepared to pay it all off before the year is up or you are going to get charged with the back interest for the full year at a very high rate. there is no warning of this when you purchase an apple product from either apple or barclaycard. so beware!!!… Read Full Review
