We travelled to the Hotel Farandole with Skipower and it was one of the worst holidays we have ever been on On arrival at the resort we were dropped 200m from the hotel and told we would have to walk with all our bags etc and no offer of help from hotel staff. Long wait for room allocation and check in. We were them told by the manager that the hotel had a Norovirus outbreak the week before. They assured us that it had been cleared up and the hotel had been deep cleaned between guests.... (read more)

We stayed in chalet James in jan 2012 and were very dissatisfied with the level of service we received as repeat guests ( our third year travelling as a part of an extended family of 12) We noticed a very obvious drop in the standard of service and food compared to previous years for example, frozen bread, no hot breakfasts, no logs for the fire. We were unfortunate to have a leaking boiler during our stay resulting in no hot water or heating in the chalet periodially. Both the resort... (read more)

I have never had cause to write a bad review until now! We shall not be booking with Ski Power again as they overall they are a providing an extremely sub-standard service run on a very low budget to maximise their profit at the cost of customer satisfaction. Reading many previous reviews on Ski Power after our holiday it is obvious this is the general opinion of many customers. Ski powers responses always seem to blame the customer for everything and this was echoed by our experience of the... (read more)

We stayed in Chalet James in La Tania this year. Ski Power are OK we hired our skis and got our passes through them so all of the conditional discounts applied. It was the last weak of the season so stuff runs out… so what. Don't forget the idea is to Ski. They are not a luxury chalet outfit in fact they are sensibly priced (for most of the season) and if you are nice to the staff they are nice to you. Simple. We have stayed with Ski Power four times now and each time the holiday is... (read more)

Staff on the whole friendly but badly managed and definitely there to look after themselves first. Could give plently of examples, but to name a few - took 48 hrs for maintenance man to turn down our radiator - 2 min job with the right equiptment. Getting woken between 2 and 3.30am by staff returning p****d and making lots of noise etc. On their night off using the pool room to get drunk and throw up in buckets etc etc...Badly managed - manager joining in- at times felt we were a... Ski Line were the travel agent so not their fault at all...the Tour operator who runs the Gelinotte are the company who are at fault here!

Comment from Ski Line... It’s always a disappointment when a client has issues on a holiday booked via our agency, but can’t be responsible for the poor performance of the suppliers we work with. This chalet is run by Ski Power, so we feel this review should have been directed towards them, not us.

We have stayed with Ski Power on a number of occaisions from 2005 through to the present. For Christmas just past(2011)we booked chalet renoir in La Tania. We last stayed at this chalet with ski power in 2008 and had a good stay. Unfortunately our experience for xmas 2011 was not at all good. To go through the whole holiday debacle in words would take to long. The principal issue was poor resort mangement and commuincation relating to the chalet's log fire. for xmas we wanted a log fire and... (read more)

This is not a refection of the true story !
The clients concerned had not actually paid in full for their holiday and so of course services were limited and or withdrawn. This client has stayed with other operators nearby who vow not to have them back - ''Serial complainers'' is the reputation these clients have!
This client is clearly simply trying to damage the reputation of Ski Power for reasons that are beyond us, as they seemingly don't pay for their holidays. I think people will read this as one review has already been removed from this person for exactly that reason.

We have just returned from Chalet Nelly in Le Praz. There were a total of 8 in our party, 4 adults and 4 children. Our Chalet host, Aisling, was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. To our surprise we were offered a hot breakfast option every morning, the evening meal was home cooked and very acceptable. We had four young children in our party and she made a home cooked early meal for them every evening without any problem. (Maybe a few for provisions e.g. enough china... (read more)

Hi all.

I find this review quite remarkable, being the "Craig" in question and never haven spoken to the individual concerned.

Firstly the "Extra" £240. We very very clearly advertise on our website that our holiday price includes a Conditional Discount that need to be paid back if a client does not book their lift passes and either Ski Carriage or Ski Equipment through us. In fact our web site is literally peppered with information on this so that we are very upfront about it. This is about being FAIR to clients of all types and certainly not about hiding costs. As you will appreciate, all tour operators receive a commission which subsidises the cost of your holiday from equipment hire and lift companies. We felt that is was unfair that those clients that were booking these items through us were effectively subsidising the holidays of those clients that were not, so we took what we feel to be an enormous step in openness, honesty and fairness, to include a conditional discount for booking these items through us. In this fashion, if you book them through us you pay the same price, if you do not purchase then you pay the increased cost of the holiday (increased because we don't receive the commission) which we believe to be completely fair to everybody.

As to the chalet being a tip, the food being student like and the staff stinking of booze... Well why has this individual not complained???? I would have if my experience was really as bad as this client suggests

We are a reputable and honest Tour Operator that has good quality accommodation at very reasonable prices. We do not profess or advertise to be a luxury end tour operator, but what we do we do well at great prices.

We have used ski power for four holidays over a number of years and they have totally changed this season. DO NOT USE this company as they now rip you off in any way they can, the only and I mean only, plus side is the friendly nature of their chalet staff.
The previously fab breakfasts have been replaced by bread and cereal and the 'hot option' has changed to porridge or a pancake from the full English they used to provide.
Everything is an extra, we even had to pay £15 each for our 2...

Hi all.

Ski Power provide exactly what we say we do on our web site. Yes we changed our breakfasts this season (2010/11) we maintained at least one hot option every day, however removed the full cooked english breakfast to an optional extra as not all clients want this. This allowed us to slightly reduce prices this season and maintain the choice for clients who still wanted the full cooked breakfast. We feel that this is increased choice for our customers and sits in line with us providing quality accommodation at very reasonable prices.

Finally you make the suggestion that we are not prepared to discuss anything with you. We are quite open to discussing any aspect of our service and between two resorts we have 5 managers for this exact purpose. In addition our staff in the Uk are happy to discuss any aspect of your holiday with you, either before you leave, whilst you are on holiday or when you return. We actively encourage our clients to talk to our managers whilst they are on holiday so that we can strive to improve our holidays whilst maintaining the balance of affordability for all.

The price of Ski Power holidays reflect a discount for pre booking skis and passes. We are open and honest about the commission we receive and use the combined income to set the price of our holidays.. The service and food is excellent and if people want to they can upgrade to have full engligh breakfasts. Unfortunately - it looks like one person has held a grudge and is trying to spoil it for all others. We have manu many commendations and we woudl be happy to give references from Happy customers who have stayed with us so far this season!

We have not long got back from La Tania, staying Beauvallon with Ski Power, previously we have been with Ski Olympic and Silver Ski.
The Chalet was comfortable and clean, but not luxury in any sense, the bootwarmer didn't work, neither did the WiFi (one of the key reasons we booked this chalet). The furniture was tatty (torn sofa and broken lampshade). Games had bits missing. This was surprising as it was so early in the season.
However, the staff were fantastic and the food excellent,...

NEVER EVER EVER TRAVEL with Ski Power. They are one of the worst tour operators ever and are getting worse year on year. Thsi is the 3rd and last time we will be booking through them or staying in one of their chalets. They profess to be a superior operator when in fact they are as budget as they can be. Look in the fridge and it is the chepeast quality produce that can be bought in bulk from supermarkets, real basic brand food. The owner is a rip off merchant and the main objective is to... Hi all

I find this review amusing as somebody who has returned to a company year on year and writes "they are getting worse every year" seems slightly odd that if the service was indeed truly getting worse then why would they have ever returned after the second year.. this being their third.

Ski Power do not profess or advertise to be at the luxury end of the chalet holiday market as stated in this reveiw, we are actually a good mid market operator that provides excellent value for money.

If you look in our fridges then you will indeed find good value purchasing, not all purchased from a cheap brand supermarket, rather purchased from one of the leading brand supermarkets in France, Carrefour, and with approximately half of our produce purchased from commercial suppliers to achieve better purchasing power. There is nothing wrong with this at all and assists in providing the great value we are able to offer our clients.

To extras, of course we allow you to tailor your holiday and increase what you want from your holiday, and you need to pay for any extras that you may want to add to your holiday. This fits in perfectly with our stated aim of providing quality holidays at great prices, and allows those clients that want the cheaper option to have that, and those clients that want slightly more from their holiday to also have what they want.

We are a reputable and honest Tour Operator that has good quality accommodation at very reasonable prices. We do not profess or advertise to be a luxury end tour operator, but what we do we do well at great prices.

After booking an exclusive villa with Ski Power through catered-ski-chalets.co.uk, one of your agents, our party of 11, 5 adults and 6 children from age 9 to 4, headed again towards La Tania by car. Experiencing a horrible trip which lasted two days instead of one due to the snowy road we were looking forward to stay in a catered villa again like we experienced with Family Friendly Skiing several times.
On arrival at 19:30 hours were told by the villa staff that our booked villa could not...

A few facts for you as this review is very very misleading

This client arrived at our property, after their long journey, not having paid in full for their holiday and also with a large unmuzzled dog. In accordance with our policies, and those of most Tour Operators we refused the client access until such time as they paid the balance of their holiday.

Shortly thereafter the dog actually attacked one of our staff members at which point we politely and courteously asked the clients to remove the dog from the premises, a not unreasonable course of action given that we don't accept dogs in the first place and this dog had actually physically assaulted one member of our staff.

Subsequently the client contacted the Uk office and we continued with our reasonableness and confirmed that the client was welcome to come into the property at any stage once they had paid in full for the holiday. However we did refuse to accept the violent dog. The client again refused to pay the balance of their holiday.

The client did then contact the Tourist Office and the Lift pass company, who both contacted Ski Power. After discussions with us on the actions of the clients concerned both parties agreed that until the client actually paid in full for their holiday that we could not do anything further.

At all stages we kept informing the clients that they were welcome to enter the property once they had paid in full, emailing them (the only method of contacting them we had) 3 times during the week in question to this effect. Regrettably the client refused to pay the balance of their holiday and therefore we couldn't provide them with their holiday. It is also worth noting that we actually emailed the client 12 times before they arrived, chasing them for the balance of their holiday which they ignored and arrived with the balance outstanding, and rather incredulously, expected us to provide them with a holiday when they had not paid in full for it.

We are a reputable and honest Tour Operator that has good quality accommodation at very reasonable prices. We do not profess or advertise to be a luxury end tour operator, but what we do we do well at great prices.

Ski Power's Chalet Renoir in La Tania was modern and chalet staff pleasant. Chef did well with the food he was given but sadly there was a major problem with leaking sewage under the chalet which smelt disgusting and which they were unable to fix properly. There was no help or apology from management who just seemed to think "these things happen". We were dealt with no better by staff in the UK who ignored our emails for several days while we considered the problem to be urgent.

SKI POWER - CHALET SYLVIE 2010 STAY
I find it strange that the number of negative reports on Ski Power are no longer visible on this site.
I booked with Ski Power staying in their luxury top end chalet in 1550 in March and overall it was "fine". This was primarily down to the age of the chalet (brand new in 2010) and the chalet host who managed to create fabulous food for very little budget.
It would appear that Ski Power promise a huge amount but lack the detail, fresh bread and milk...

We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our holiday last week. Beauvallon is a lovely chalet and solidly built so I did not have to worry about little Alex keeping other people awake. The Cr che manager was very helpful and the play area just perfect for under 5's. We would really like to thank the Ski Power staff for a brilliant week at the Hotel Chanrossa.
Before our holiday when we heard that we were flying to Geneva we were quite

This is not a true account and Ski Power have not received a compaint. This is being investigated. We provide excellent value holidays and to give our customers the best price that we can we discount the holiday by expected revenue commissions from equipment hire and lift pass purchases! It is very clear and all over our website.
All of our feedback on our properties is very good.
