When my Dyson eventually gave up after 12 years, I thought I'd try a Vax. The first Vax model I bought stopped working after three months. Customer Services kindly sent me another one out, this time a Vax Mach VX Pet. I was delighted, as we have two cats, so thought it would be a perfect option. Unfortunately, I couldn't be more disappointed. If I want cat hair to be picked up off the carpet, I have to take the hose out of its slot, get on my hands and knees, and suck the hair up using the... (read more)

Bought Vax Mach 5 May 2009. No better than previous Dyson! Heavy to manouvre on thick carpet. Sent back to Vax Feb 2010 when motor failed. returned 1week later with new motor fitted but machine badly scratched as if pulled across workshop floor. Returned to Vax after phoning to complain and have now received back in same condition. Here we go again!!!! Conditions say if machine is returned to them in dirty condition ie dust bag dirty and filters not clean they will charge £35 and send back.... (read more)

This machine has good and bad points hence the three stars. On the plus side, it was kids olay to assemble, it is brilliant at picking up dirt and dog hairs and has a fantastic turbo brush. The tools are very accessible and the hose is clear which is good for spotting a clog and I do like the auto rewinde hose. On the minus side,it is very heavy and cumbersome and I found it difficult to manoeuvre around the floor, possibly because of the weight. I really like Vax machines and was a bit... (read more)

got the Vax Mach 5 Pet a couple of weeks ago. From the photos on the website and on the box, I thought it would be a lot bigger than it actually was, which was concerning due to the lack of storage space in my home, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was smaller than expected. The instructions were easy to understand and there were plenty of pictures. It was fairly easy and quick to assemble. I have had the hoover for a few weeks and I love it. The same as some others when I unpacked it I was worried about putitng it together but it really only took 5-10 minutes. The suction is superb, especially the turbo head for the stairs...I was actually amazed at how well it picked up. The carpet looked new!! I would def recommend this hoover whether they have pets or not. Only downside i would say is that it is a bit heavy compared to what im used to but the pros of this hoover def... (read more)

This is a great vax machine. When I took it out of the box I was very impressed. It only takes a few minutes to put together using the instruction book. I was amazed at how mush pet hair it picked up and having 4 dogs I have tried many pet cleaners and been dissapointed. This machine is easy to use and empty,and the turbo brush is great on upholstery and carpets and the stairs. Pet 5 Mach U90-M5-P
I have just recently got this model. Got to say when I opened the box and saw all the pieces to be put together I was a bit daunted. However after I got them out and had a look at the instruction book it was all quite clear and had it assembled in less than 20 minutes.
It has plenty of tools and the extension tubes allow them to get into the more difficult places. I especially like the Turbo tool, lets you get into those hard to reach places with little loss of power. I...

I have recently used the Vax Mach 5 pet for the first time. As soon as it arrived I got busy assembling it! It was easy enough to put together but I would advise a 1st time buyer to actually sit and go through the instructions before trying to piece it together. It isn't 'rocket science' but you do need to be aware of certain elements of the assembly. I am a single Mum and have no male help in the house and if I can assemble it anybody can!

I am very impressed with this hoover. At first when i unpacked it i thought it looked to big and clumpy, but after assembling and using it for the first time I found it very easy to move about and very good suction. I hoover a few times a day and even after i had hoovered the night before this hoover amazed me with how much it still managed to pick up.

If you are a pet owner like me I really recommend this Vax as it is fantastic at picking up pet hair. The vax has washable filters, it is very easy to empty the dust container without getting dust over yourself.
When I first used this Vax I could not believe how much pet hair and dirt it had picked up, my carpets look so clean!
There is a very long power cord which is fantastic as I can use it in 2 rooms without having to unplug it. The turbo brush attachment is really useful especially on...

i recieved my new vax just over a week ago,it was specifically for my pets. I have a large dog and a small cat. The first time i used the vax , i was pleasantly surpised. It lifted all the dogs hairs without any problems. I have had other so called better makes, but none of them have picked up the hairs with such ease as the vax Mach 5 Pet U90-M5-P. This is the best bagless vacuum i have ever had, I was amazed at how much fluff, dog hair and dust it picked up, i vacuum regularly, especially having a springer spaniel that moults continually and i always thought my house was clean but after using this new Vax i realize that it was not as clean as i thought, the dust container was half full after one vacuum session.
