Unless you've been living under a rock for the past year, you'll be well aware of Apple's tablet, the iPad. Dubbed the next generation device, it is hoped that it will plug the gap between small laptops and Smartphone mobiles.
At first glance, the iPad looks like everything that was predicted. Its touch screen looks like a bigger and squarer version of the iTouch and iPhone. It features multi-touch interaction with print, video, photo, and audio multimedia, internet browsing, and runs most iPhone OS apps.
The device has a backlit LCD colour display and uses a virtual keyboard for text input! The iPad has a Wi-Fi connection to the internet, or you can download video, music, books and newspapers while on the go whilst connected to the web via 3G.
Do you own an iPad, or will you be queuing up to get your hands on the latest iPad 2? If yes, come back to Review Centre and be the first to leave a review and tell us what you think of this popular gadget.

Have had a ipad 4 for a few weeks now and must say its very good, battery life is brilliant, once the novelty wears off and you use it normally the battery lasts days instead of a few hours for a laptop. It won't replace a laptop but its bril at browsing the web , online shopping, online banking etc, all the usual stuff most people use the Internet for. (read more)

Buying the ipad has made life very easy. Its always on stanby so very ideal when you need the internet very quickly. The screen sensitivity is spot on and the kids love it (very easy for kids to use) I thought the battery life would be poor but this ipad has proved me wrong. Ideal for anyone who wants to use it on the go but would not recommend using it to replace a laptop or a desktop. (read more)

I am an iPhone user so by that logic I thought I would take the plunge and buy myself an iPad 3. So far I have to say I am getting on with it well although I do think it has limited self life. The display is great and allows me to watch HD films to great effect and makes my photos look crisp and clear. The apps are also great and the games play great on the larger display. I do question when I will get tired of it though. Its a great toy to have to play with and will come in handy when on... (read more)

I bought the new iPad (3rd gen) on its launch day (16 March). I have been using it for almost a month and it frustrates me. It is an excellent bedside/sofa/hotel companion, but it's very limited in what you can do. It does not have USB connectivity. It does not have an SD card port (very frustrating!) It gets very hot if using processor-heavy apps. It feels fragile and the screen smudging issue is irritating. Even though it's one of the slimmest tablets out there, it's still too thick... i've got an iPad1, got it when the iPad 2 came out as thry dropped price on iPad 1! This little job has kept me sane through the winter, loads of games to play, always willing to surf (we use a MiFi dongle) Someone complained about the number of emails you can keep on it! I use gmail and the emails are always there and not on my pad. In fact most servers keep you emails for you! If I want to keep any info from the internet I just copy into 'notes' in fact my 'notes' is quite full! I find it... (read more)

Was not that impressed with it for two reasons... There is a limit to how many emails it can hold. Does not support flash. For this reason when using for a little while I would stumble across one of these and have to reach for my laptop. Highly annoying! Anyway... On the eve of the launch of iPad HD / iPad 3 or whatever they are going to call it lets hope they crack it! (read more)

The Apple iPad when first launched was on the pricey side. To be honest I would have not bought it, as it does not include flash player, and didn't include a camera. I used this iPad for about a month, and found that it was real handy to search the internet whenever I pleased, as it took no time at all to turn it on. It does get quite heavy to hold after a while, which could be a problem if you wanted to read an eBook. Overall it was fun to use, and quite handy to have around, but I much... (read more)

Great for games and casual surfing, the aps are great and education for kids cannot be beaten. However I was not aware of the limitations surrounding flash technology and had I known this I wouldn't have brought it, very frustrating to be unable to have full use of the web due to apple disallowing flash downloads

Got the iPad for Christmas off my husband it was a total surprise. I hadn't asked for one but as I was always marvelling and going on about my iPhone he thought I'd like it. Like it was an understatement - I totally love it - it's never out my hand! I read books, watch videos purchased from iTunes. Use it for correspondence, using the Internet and e-mailing. it is so user friendly. My 4 year old grandson asks for it as soon as he comes to my house when he plays games and we read... (read more)

An amazing device. No, it doesn't have flash support but I've not found this to be a big issue at all, in fact free apps like Flipboard and Pulse News will change the way you browse the web anyway! Web browsing on a laptop, PC or mac seems archaic after spending some time on an iPad.
The screen is bright, the keyboard easy to use and responsive and the variety of apps and games is second to none. I am a freelance writer and use the iPad for absolutely everything I do. It is surprisingly... (read more)

IPAD - LOVE IT/HATE IT
I have a love/hate relationship with my iPad. Love it for work - emails, documents. Iphoto is great (although my iphone offers these things anyway). But I am driven into a FRENZY by the brick Walls I keep running into when I try to view a movie or tv show and am told I don't have flash player so can't view. I like BBC iplayer but it's only good with wi-fi and doesnt allow you to download and watch on the move. I also have loads of dvds I havent seen yet but theres no... (read more)

The iPad is good for games, and adequate for reading books and checking emails. Some websites work fine on it; many don't, partly due to the lack of Flash support. (Mr Jobs' claim that this is "by far the best browsing experience you've ever had" is frankly ludicrous.) Anything even slightly complicated, such as creating a spreadsheet, is pretty much impossible due to lack of mouse and keyboard.
By far its best feature is the boot-up time which is more or less instantaneous. A handy device... (read more)

The iPad is changing the way we access information. However, for reading, I still like my Kindle from Amazon. The Kindle is smaller, lighter, and the screen is better for reading. I was unsure whether I should buy a Kindle for a long time but after I read this report: ebookreaderreport.net
I decided to buy a Kindle in addition to my iPad. The report give some strong points against the Kindle but overall I felt the Kindle was the best ereader for me but the same may not hold true for... (read more)

As an android user I wasn't sure whether to go the iPad or Galaxy Tab route but ultimately decided on the iPad due to the fact it has been out longer and has more apps available.
I was a little hestitant about the screen size and whether it would be too big for me on the train (which was its intended use) but its just right for me (A large man with big hands). I think thought that if you are a smaller person then a smaller device might be more comfortable if you are aiming to use this for... (read more)

Conclusion: It's a "cool" gadget that everyone wants, but nobody needs.
I have the IPAD 20 days and have come to the conclusion that it is a real cool gadget with an impressing user interface, the typical excellent Apple build quality, its fast, and excellent battery life. But unfortunately there it stops.
There is a lot not so good with this device. First, there is no "adobe flash" support. This is probably its biggest and most serious flaw; many internet sites do not work well and that... (read more)

I borrowed an Ipad for 30 days and tried to keep an open mind as I'm not an Apple fanboy. My first thoughts on handling it, pretty and pretty heavy! I wasn't sure what to use it for and had a play on a couple of apps, Beatbox and Angry Birds Lite. I quickly became addicted to playing Angry Birds but could find no other reason to use the iPad once I had three starred the levels.
The iPad looks very nice and feels lovely with a sensitive and intuitive touchscreen but past that it felt... (read more)

I purchased an Apple 36gb wi fi Ipad from the Apple Store, Lakeside Shopping Center on 3rd November 2010. Staff at the Apple Store were very pleasant and offered to set up tunes and my email on my Ipad before I left the store. This is something I would recommend if you do not own another PC as the Ipad has to be registered like any iphone. I'm no Apple fanboy (read my other review on the HTC desire), but I have to admit I love my ipad. I basically never use my laptop any more (goodby poor battery life and getting hot after 5 minutes), as all I ever did was really browse the web and maybe remote-desktop to other pc's and send email, all of which can be done by the ipad (admittedly you have to buy an app for RDP, but its only a fiver or so).
The touch screen really responsive, and the safari browser is super quick and slick.... (read more)

So, what is the fuss all about? The iPad essentially revolutionises the concept of a tablet computer. Previously tablet devices addressed a legitimate consumer need (casual, lazy, couch-bound computing), but left most people frustrated with a stylus-driven handwriting recognition system and an operating system that was really designed to be used on a desktop PC.
While it's not the perfect implementation of a tablet computer, the iPad is quite simply the best yet. The use of the iPhone OS... (read more)

This is a sleek piece of kit but don't confuse it with a Tablet PC. If you have a laptop and a iPhone then this is for you for a bit of luxury in mobile computing for example checking email, interneting, bit of gaming but thats about it. It is an overgrown iPod Touch and incompatible with anything other than an Apple device. I would recommend the bigger hard drive. The bluetooth is only for keyboard and headphone connection. I really like the Apple Ipad.
Its very small, light and portable and yet the functionality and power of it is fantastic.
The interface is so intuitive that my 2 year old was able to switch it on, find her favourite app and happily play with it on her own after only been shown how to do it twice. That's pretty good.
As its essentially a large iPhone there are already loads of apps available (although ones specifically written for the iPad are better, you can still use the iPhone apps on... (read more)

I've used Apples for business for over a decade now and to be honest, I've never really seen their appeal. However, after spending the last decade trying everything from pocket PCs, Blackberries and assorted smartphones as a lightweight but capable alternative to a laptop, I finally plunged for an Ipad and at last I have a machine which does what I need - check emails, write and review documents and play the odd game quickly, easily and without the weight and startup/shutdown times of a... Bought a basic 16 gig iPad as a mobile device to use around the house and to take away with me on trips (beats lugging a laptop). I am very pleased with it.
