Getting the car was easy as was the drop off. Car was clean and working. My issue was that I told them I had excess insurance purchased in the UK. I should have taken the time to fully read all the documents I signed. This is my fault entirely and I should have noticed they had slipped a 'windscreen insurance' and some other bits and bobs on the bill even though I expressly told them I was covered. Has cost me £20 (not the end of the world) but it has left a nasty taste. READ THE DOCUMENT YOU SIGN CAREFULLY!!!!!!!! Caveat emptor!

I've rented cars from Maggiore Venice Italy each summer for past 5 years. This summer, they offered new program of prepaid full tank fuel at cost of Euro 87 with monthly rental and to return the car with EMPTY fuel tank - which we did. Upon returning the car, the agent confirmed empty fuel tank as per rental agreement and signed to the same. BUT then Maggiore charged a separate invoice for refuelling Euros 130 including administration fees. After several long distance calls from Canada and formal written complaint, Maggiore provided copies of the rental final invoice charged to my credit card as well as the separate refuelling invoice processed to my credit card after we returned the car. Magically the prepaid fuel of Euro 87 was not included in the rental final invoice, justifying the separate and exorbitant Euro 130 refuelling charge. SO BEWARE - DO NOT ACCEPT MAGGIORE PREPAID FUEL OPTION - IT"S A SHAM! Their accounting cannot process it in the rental final invoice charge to your credit card and charge refuelling and administrative fees separately after your return the car.

We hired a car at Naples central station in Sept this year.The staff of Maggiore car rental company on the outside( were the cars are parked)were extremely rude and unhelpfull .Young people more interested in their cellphones than their customers.Maggiore rental l company should defnitely give attention to this problem.Inside office staff were more friendly.

I hired a car from Maggiore from Milan Malpensa airport terminal 1 that I had booked through carhire3000. I had no problems getting my car and even got a free upgrade to a Mercedes Benz (nice!). The car was in decent condition except for one long scratch along the door that was not noted on the original receipt, but there was no problem adding this once I pointed it out to an attendant. For our trip from Milan up to Aosta we requested snow chains as we were to be in the Alps to do some skiing and snowshoeing. We got snow chains for the car no problem, but found out a few days later when we needed to use them that they were the wrong size! Luckily we weren't in too much danger as the snow/ice was only above a certain elevation and we could drive back down to the valley okay, however, we did miss out on some good snowshoeing, much to our dismay. When we dropped off the car we told the attendant about the issue and we were not charged for the snow chains. So...some good...some bad...no major issues...will request snow tires and/or be more careful about checking the size of the chains in the future as I could have avoided this if I had been more diligent.

Picked up our Fiat Punto at Venice Mestre railway station after being told to pick it up at Venice railway station (they are 4 miles apart - a 23 Euro taxi ride away!). Their man at the station was very helpful and the car was nearly new, but quite dirty. We had to stop at one stage to clean the inside of the windscreen, because heading into the sun - we couldn't see! Around the doors and floor mats were very dirty, like it had been on gravel roads and outside looked like it had not been cleaned since the last person had it. Otherwise the car was great and their service (once we got to the right place) was very good. We would have liked to know exactly where the car would be if not in Venice itself!
