I booked a Fiesta size vehiucle and was presented with a Megane size vehicle with a boot. On calling the hire company from the airport I waited about 5 mins for the car to arrive. There were a number of scratches on the car, however it was clean, comfortable and everything worked. Rip off would have been cheaper to use a big chain like avis etc. Charge 25 euro each way for pick up and drop off between the hours of 8pm-8am which is not advertised! Charge 100 euro for fuel which you would never use.and would only cost around 30 euro anyway to fill the tank. Never ending list of un advertised extra charges upon pick up when its too late to dispute. Car was dirty when collected and looked battered. Two small things I'm not 100% happy about ... the very professional lady at the counter at Heathrow suggested that I upgrade the car I booked (a mini car ) to one that would be better for long distance driving. The only slight downfall was that I had a bit of a wait to be served as there was only one Thrifty representative on duty at the desk and he was dealing with a customer when I arrived. Hired a Peugeot 107 using this website, for just over a week, I am 6ft 2 and a bit :) and had inches of headroom to spare. The fuel economy was excellent and it was quite nippy and basically a lot better than i expected in most regards. the boot is small, but i didnt need a big boot so it wasnt a problem/ The cost of the hire was excellent and the advisers (hove based) were both very helpful. very recommended and i will be using them again. The car hire was simple to book online, but when I came to the bus stop that was explained in the booking certificate and telephoned the car hire office it took very long (about 20 minutes) before I was collected, but at the office I was given the car quickly enough. The car was full of fuel and reasonably clean on the interior, however, there was quite a few bumps and scratches on the exterior and when I returned the car the Budget rep asked what had happened to the rear bumper and I had to explain that I got the car in this condition. We are sorry you were not aware of the location of the collection depot, however the address is shown on our website before booking if you hover over the question mark next to the location on the first page of the booking form, as well as on your rental voucher.
As for the cleanliness of the car, we are not able to comment on behalf of Europcar but with regards to the fuel policy, we would like to direct your attention towards the policy on your rental agreement. If you have any issues with this, please do not hesitate to let us know so that we can pass your comments on to the relevent supplier.
Please also be aware that as it would be impossible to list every vehicle model available around the world, cars are categorised into similar groups according to the Association of Car Rental Industry Systems Standards. We display as much information as we can to help you with your selection such as the approximate size of the vehicle, whether the car is manual or auto and with or without air conditioning.
What you actually receive when collecting your car may not match the image you were shown at the time of the booking. This is why all cars are displayed with the "or similar" note along side them, as they are for example only and do not guarantee that is what you will get. The car hire you receive on collection should however fall into the same car class grouping as the one you paid for.

We booked a small car from Gibraltar for 4 days. Our "Mistake" was to believe that the price we booked was what we would pay after we had chosen not to take any of the insurance extras. We are sorry to hear you were not happy with your rental experience however, all charges that will be applied to your booking are clearly displayed within the terms and conditions provided on the last page of the booking form, as well as on the rental voucher. These include things like any out of hours charges, the fuel policy and fuel charges.
As well as this, the address of the collection depot is always displayed on the rental voucher along with instructions for collection. This is to help customers identify where they need to go to collect the car.
