Ordered a Cannondale Bad Boy 9 on this website as couldn't get one anywhere in London. Ordered on Monday, asked for delivery on Wednesday and the bike arrived promptly, no problems with the bike. Spoke to a lady in Customer service also and all was fine. I am a little mystified by the negative feedback about Wheelies Direct on this site. It seems that the negative feedback is from people who had their bikes stolen and are getting a replacement bike through Wheelies Direct. (read more)

My pannier bags, which which apparently in stock when I ordered, are now a month overdue. I have asked for a refund and I'm having trouble getting a straight answer. Don't go near them. i purchased a scott genius 740. it took 10 days to get to me and when it did it wasn't built correctly. the left hydrolic brake hose wasn't fix in properly and was leaking fluid every ware, not enough air in either of the shocks and the rear mech control wire wasn't fixed correctly. if you ever get a bike that was built by J evens and checked by j Gobbs(i think)for safety purposes take it to your nearest bike shop and get it checked properly. when purchasing a new bike i dont expect it... Having had my bikes stolen, I was informed by my insurers to use BikeReplacement. The initial call was poor - the handler didn't explain that basically I had to spend all of the £1500 in their online store, and that no change would be given; I had to get this information out of him. Hope your order finally turned up. It took just over a month for mine to arrive. Spoke to them a few times and was told that it would be dispatched immediately. Blatantly wasn't. Terrible company, just a shame some of their prices are so appealing. I know it's not worth it anymore though.

I had three bikes stolen in October 2012, I had to wait till all three bikes were in stock before I could get any of them delivered, expected date 18th of January. I had regular contact with the company until the 15th January, at this point I paid them some additional funds and waited for my delivery of the bikes on the Friday, having booked a day off work. That's interesting that your insurance company didn't mind the claim being split.
I've got £1500 of bike sat in their depot waiting two weeks now for a cycle jacket to arrive before they will despatch.
I have contacted my insurance company to find out whether this is correct about not splitting orders or whether it's Wheelies just being tight with the delivery costs. I'll update my complaint with any information.

I am very sad to hear that so many people have had a bad experience. My bike was stolen a week ago, and my insurance company (Direct Line) also works with Wheelies. I called them and they told me the bike I wanted was not in stock, but could be ordered back in in 3-5 working days and they would deliver to me the next day. Quite possibly the worst company for after sales EVER! I got a bike via their subsidiary company - Cycle Solutions. The bike developed a fault within the first month and I returned a part for repair. It took 3 MONTHS to resolve with numerous phone calls, verbal and emailed complaints (that got ignored) and an attitude from the staff that made you feel extremely undervalued. Wheelies were appointed by my insurance company to replace my stolen bike. In fairness they dealt with the supply of the bike very efficiently and the bike was delivered the next day. Like many people I read some of the reviews after my bike was damaged and I made an insurance claim via tesco insurance who use wheelies bike replacement. With some trepidation I boxed my bike up for collection. Have to say, excellent service, my Dawes galaxy was replaced with a ridgeback panorama which is a far superior bike. Paid £1450 for a Genesis bike which turned out to be faulty. It was a Shimano hub gear but they claim that it needs to be repaired by the manufacturer rather than give a replacement! Order my wife a bike from wheelies, agree with many other reviews here - customer service is non existent, all you get is an acknowledgement of your order, then nothing until it turns up with TNT. Absolutely shocking company. Ordered a waterproof caddy sack through them and it has never arrived. I have written 3 emails all of which have been ignored. I have now gone through Paypal to get a refund as they are clearly not going to respond and intend on keeping my money without sending the product. I found this site while looking for some camping gear and parts for a new bike I was building. Pricing was pretty similar to others online but decided to take a chance and buy everything from here for simplicity's sake. Their site was easy to use, checkout process was straightforward and the goods arrived within 2 days of placing the order. I ordered an orange Elite pro after my old one was stolen, the bike took a week to arrive, despite initially being told it would be 48 hours. When it arrived it had the wrong tyres on it, wrong size and brand, so that they were too wide to fit through the frame. I had to order via this company as my employer is operating the Cycle To Work scheme through Wheelies. I had my mountain bike stolen from my garage a week before i was due to go on my cycling trip to the Alps. Wheelies Direct replaced my bike through my insurance company within 48hrs of me putting in a claim. The staff were really sympathetic and helpful and got my bike and accessories to me through their courier on time. Only when I told them I wanted a refund and to stick their order did they finally deliver it and not refund the money as requested. I am so angry with them. I am literally unable to work out how Wheelies can be so inept. My bike was stolen and so my insurance company directed me to Wheelies to get a new bike. I have been lied to about my bike being dispatched, TWICE. My employer entered the Cycle To Work Scheme.
They are incapable of actually building the bikes correctly, which compromises safety especially for those buying that are not familiar with bikes.
And I am now awaiting my 3rd bike to arrive without being broken or scratched.
You can however guarantee they will let you down, so if you can, go elsewhere.

I don't think I have one good thing to say about them.
I have exactly the same experience. They are completely useless. I have been waiting for almost 6 months now and they still haven't managed to sort out my insurance claim. I have been lied to. Calls and emails are hardly ever returned. It took a mate in the bike industry to give them a call for them actually to respond to me.

Wheelies Direct are the worst company that I have ever had to deal with. Their customer service staff are unknowledgable and incompetant, they lack even the most basic of bike knowledge and constantly get things wrong.
In the few months that I had to deal with them I have left messages that went unreturned, I have been given wrong information on various occasions and I have been lied to.
If you are considering buying from Wheelies Direct, I'll give you a good tip. Tie one end of a length...

My company joined cycle to work scheme with them. I thought - great. I ordered carefuly selected GT GTR type CX bike offered for 799...They phoned me up and said they haven't got it in stock, offered me other one or waiting 2 months. Having e-mailed Wheelies, I will concede they have finally taken some action.
They have explained the delays - one supplier has just moved premises so much of their gear is delayed. They also owned up to making a mistake on my helmet and had to reorder it.
The thing that was interesting was that the reason for not splitting the order is not as such the instructions of the insurance company; it seems it is easier for Wheelies to invoice my insurance company if all the goods are sent at once. This is a direct quote from Wheelies by the way.
What that seems to mean is it's easier and more convenient for them. Having pushed them, they are now sending out my bike by immediate despatch, and the two outstanding items will follow when they arrive.
My thoughts are that I shouldn't have had to spend my time doing this, and I'd still prefer to go to a local bike shop who have a vested interest in proper customer service. But if you're having issues with them, I suggest you do what I did:
1 - ask for the e-mail address of someone who deals with complaints
2 - mail them asking for a split in your order
3 - tell them that you will be contacting your insurers to complain about substandard service
4 - contact your insurers and let them know they're using a substandard service
