Good Points: This book has too many strengths to summarize. It gives an incredible, often paradigm shifting message about Truth and life. It, like the others that follow (Eye of the I, I, Truth vs. Falsehood) give insight into all facets of life, making it easier for the reader to understand and in doing so have compassion for some of the uglier aspects of life. It is overall a book that has immeasurably transformed my life. I look forward to Dr. Hawkins' further publications.

Bad Points: Sometimes the language is difficult-- the reader may want a dictionary handy. Also a few of the calibrations are inconsistant (slightly) across the four books. E.g. Carl Jung is at 540, 520 and 560 in the different books. This may be a sticking point for some more analytical readers, but the message is generally the same throughout all Hawkins' works.

General comments: The text of Power Vs.Force asserts that the Truth about any given subject across time and space can be readily accessed via applied kinesiology. This is a technique requiring two people of integrity; basically, a muscle test is administered in which truth (e.g. there is a loving God) makes us goes strong, and falsehood (Osama Bin Laden is a holy man) makes us go weak. This technique is applicable to anything, including human consciousness. The human levels of consciousness are calibrated using a logorythmic scale from 1-1000. Anything below 200 is falsehood: (pride, anger, grief, apathy, guilt, shame); and thing above 200 is truth (courage, integrity, willingness, reason, love, peace, enlightenment). At the bottom of the scale are usually the worst of humanity (Hitler, Pol Pot, etc.) at the very top are spritual avatars (Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, all calibrate at 1,000).
The book uses the scale of consciousness like a map to explain world events, business, society, religion, spiritual teachings; even the supernatural and downright weird (sorry, aliens, ghosts, and indigo people are in falsehood). The technique offers incredible everyday applications as well as profound spiritual information for any of those on a spiritual path. I highly recommend reading this provided that the reader is not spiritually shy or extremely religious. Atheists should certainly be ware as the content will most likely cause trauma ('God Exists' makes you go strong)! An excellent read for anyone concerned with the above, and a perfect guide for those that are simply curious.

David R. Hawkins, Power Vs.Force - I think this is the most interesting, inspiring and useful book I've read. Dr. Hawkins has the capacity to make even the introduction and appendices completely fascinating! A rare being, where a scientific mind is connected to a spiritually enlightened heart, Dr. Hawkins reports on over 20 years of muscle-testing on the theme of human consciousness, to test the real effects of thought on the human energy system. In this method, where subjects either go weak or ...
