Honeymooning on the beautiful island of Koh Samui was an unbelievable experience
The sun bleached beaches and the warmth of the locals made my honeymoon truly magical
We're not disco or night-life lovers - we were & still are simply lovers
If you want a quiet get-away from all the trauma of every day life then go there
We're going back next year ( budget allowing) to re-live our extraordinary memories!
We took a flight to Bangkok and then another straight to the island. Alternatively fly to Suratthani & then catch a bus or taxi to the ferry terminal
There are many villas, hotels to choose from but I recommend hiring a villa, easily done on-line with any good quality travel retail outlet. Our villa came complete with maid service and we breakfasted each morning on the veranda( wonderful fruit)
Hire a motorbike for a laugh - we certainly laughed a lot as it took a while to get used to it!but it gave us adequate transport to take a look at what was on offer.
There are a few nightclubs & discos if that's your bag. We preferred the smaller bars that served food cooked in the local style( right in front of you)
Snorkeling is a must and they have plenty of schools that also teach you how to dive ( if you're up for it). There's also buffalo fighting, bungy jumping and a butterfly garden that's worth a visit ( located in the South-East at Leam Set.)
That's about it I think!
