“Blue is cool”

Good beer for its type. Yes a slight after taste but the taste is good. Highly recommend them. Just wish you could get it on tap. (read more)

“Hell no man”

Written on: 27/03/2013

I drank one earlier today it just said Beck's non alcoholic beer and I swear to god, it tasted like laundry... Almost threw up. I mean really. By far the worst tasting beer in the world. Literally someone payed me $5 to finish it and I almost couldn't do it. And again, laundry... (read more)

“Why so expensive?”

Written on: 15/10/2012

I really enjoy Beck's Blue as a drink, especially as I choose not to drink alcohol at the moment. It is quite embarrassing to ask a friend to buy you a drink when it is so expensive in a Pub or restaurant. In supermarkets the price varies, but I have located it in more than one for less than 50p per bottle. Why do breweries ask such a mark up, as surely they should be encouraging people to drink less alcohol and should be making it easier for drivers looking for a tasty alternative to the... “As Good As the Alcoholic Version”

Written on: 18/05/2012 by Lugsy6541

I have to say that this is just as good as the normal alcoholic version. It tastes just as great, though I have only ever tasted it chilled and not out of the sideboard like some others, and very refreshing. It is a better choice than Coke or Pepsi when you are the designated driver, plus you feel like you are drinking like everyone else and don't feel left out. Taht said, when drinking it in a pub you still feel a little like you have had a few. I think that that is more down to the effects... (read more)

“Best Alcohol free Beer I've tried yet”

Written on: 08/04/2012 by JimSmith333 (1 review written)

There's some people who'll say "What's the point in Alcohol free beer you might as well drink coke?" I've seen this a number of times. There's various reasons why someone might choose an alcohol free beer instead. Designated drivers or perhaps someone who likes beer, but wants to cut down on their alcohol intake. I personally wouldn't want to keep drinking coke because it's to sweet. I've tried various Alcohol free beers off of the supermarket shelf's and Beck blue is my favourite so far.... (read more)

“Good, but still a contradiction.”

Written on: 25/12/2011

Becks Blue actually tastes good, and for those who enjoy it for that reason alone, it's well worth the money. So, on the basis of that major, major plus point - most alcohol free beer is absolutely dire - I'll give you the negatives 1) Only available in 275ml bottles in UK - In Germany it's sold in 330 and 500ml(!). 2)Because of its lack of alcohol, it does not chill the same way normal beers do. I give this as an opinion only, and in regard of the way it feels on the palette. Try one out... (read more)

“Tastes great: by far the best low alcohol beer”

Written on: 16/10/2011

I started drinking Becks Blue last January while having a few weeks off booze (I was a regular Becks drinker): I don't like any soft drinks as they're too sweet and usually enjoy a cold bottle of lager at the end of the day. I was immediately impressed that it actually tasted like beer, unlike every other low alcohol beer I've tried. I found myself enjoying being more clear-headed, and even when the January alcohol-free period was up, I continued drinking Becks Blue instead of regular Becks.... (read more)

Becks make by far the worst alcohol free beers in the world. It just tastes of chemicals and nothing else. I have been tea total for thirteen years due to a medical problem but before that I used to drink a lot of beer including real ales and German largers. I just cannot force Becks alcohol free beers down my throat. If you want drinkable alcohol free beers then try Kaliber, Cobra, Erdinger or Bavaria, especially the new Bavaria wheat beer. (read more)

I've been tea total for all my adult life out of choice. This review sounds like a bavaria sales person, that stuff is horrible.......I really like the Becks Blue.

I agree, some of the ones mentioned are undrinkable. I think the Becks is as near to real lager as it gets. I am an abstaining alcoholic so I have shopped around. Pity the pubs mark it up from 50p to £2 though

Written on: 02/10/2010 by Michael T (4 reviews written)

This lager has the authentic taste and the added bonus of no alchohol so you can drink and drive with no worry. It is the only alcohol free lager I have found that retains the authentic continental flavour - keep it up Beck's.
If you shop about you can often pick it up reasonably priced. My most recent batch does taste slightly different so I hope that Beck's are not changing the recipe to use a different cheaper blend of hops. Concoctions of 'continental' lager (alcohol free or not) brewed... (read more)

Becks Blue tastes absolutely nothing like normal Becks. I'm sitting here drinking a bottle now - it tastes like liquid Rivita - in fact I'm feeling quite nauseous. (read more)

I found this review not helpful because... I don't think it was truthful.
<br/>If you are used to drinking strong lager obviously you are going to notice a difference because you get no kick. This product is way ahead of the pack in the flavour stakes for non alcoholic lagers. I'm a bitter drinker of many years experience and have also drunk many continental lagers on their home turf. Perhaps the reviewer is used to the sweeter U.K. brewed products or can't recognise the type of hop used on the continent.

Unlike some other alcohol free beers this actually tastes just as it should. I would not be able to tell the difference if it was handed to me in a glass. Excellent for those who enjoy a drink but should'nt have alcohol i.e drivers and people wishing to cut down thier alcohol intake. It is good value for money and it also contains less callories so everyones a winner! (read more)
