The first phone was never good. The display was missing lines & eventual disappeared completely. The flipper fell off never to be seen again. Finally, the phone quit completely. Ericsson was great in replacing it, and the new one lasted, except for the flipper. I still have this flipper, but it is broken--one of the hinges broke off completely. I haven't contacted Ericsson because I do not want another one.

I went to the United States for a month and decided that I should buy a cell phone since my European Nokia wouldn't work there. I walked into the first cell phone store and got myself an Ericsson LX788. When I first got the phone out of the box, it certainly looked very nice - in some proportions it was smaller than my Nokia 7110.

On many occasions, the phone will connect, but I'm unable to hear the phone dial. I've said some things I shouldn't (talking to the phone, not the party I'm calling), and they can hear me. Overall the phone is a waste of money.

Supplied with my AT&T Wireless service. Volume level is
insufficent to overcome normal road noise in a moving car.
The flip has broken twice in a little over a year. The
plug to the phone from the car charger is flimsy and will not stay in if you pick up the phone. At least once a week, the phone freezes up when dialing. I have to remove the battery for 10 seconds or so to restore operation.

This phone looks great...very compact and convenient to use, however it's the worst quality wireless phone I have ever used. The reception is terrible and dropped calls are a big problem. The volume level is not nearly adequate. The flip down plate breaks off easily and since it contains the microphone, the phone barely works without it. I have had to replace flip down plate 3 times at great expense.
