Amazing movie, the effects were great and my entire family enjoyed. Would definitely recommend watching it in 3D to really get the best experience. Bought in on Blue Ray so will be watching it again sometime soon. Can't wait for the sequels! (read more)

I absolutely love this film. Its a mark of history. I own this on Bluray and the HD quality along with the effects and digital surround sound is too good. My only regret is not having a 3d tv so that i can buy the 3d version of this. (read more)

Avatar for me was one of the best films to come out of 2009. The most exciting, thrilling, and superb work you'll feast your eyes on in any theatre this century. The graphics are fantastic, everything is so real, the 3D just adds to the effect beautifully without distracting you. In my opinion, Avatar is a film experience that will be remembered for years to come. James Cameron has succeeded once again in creating a wonderfully entertaining film with the perfect balance between love,... (read more)

One thing is great about that movie it is for men, women and children! You have got romance, action and fantasy all together. One of my friend who is not keen on Science-Fiction movie agreed it was really good! You can recognise a few faces, but the main characters are not famous, at least not when the movie got released. I love Pandora, I love the story, I love the characters, I love everything about that movie. I can't wait for the sequel even though it won't be as good as this one! The 3D... (read more)

I loved this film. The effects were amazing, and I missed it at the cinema, where it would have been even better I guess. However I also missed all the "hype" so when I saw it I had no real expectations. I did not think the "plot" was "weak" as some have said, it was in keeping with a film of this type. I loved the Na'vi characters, but I even missed the environmental message that people are saying it has (although I see it now) so I must be really useless!! One small point, I've heard a few... My favourite film of all time is Avatar because its so original. Its like half real half computer generated because like those blue guys are normal actors but then they get special effected by Microsoft Paint to make them look like people from other worlds. Cant wait for Avatar 2! (read more)

Avatar is all about imagination a person has but does not know how to present it. well Avatar did it... A dream world everybody wants to be it but is incapable of being there.
A brilliant movie i must say. if people have that kind of imagination and capable of finding it... imagine the world would be such a beautiful place to line in.
imagination, 3d effects, characterization is beyond comparison. a world class movie. i am very sure its going to be a long time that someone comes with a... (read more)

I was unsure whether I would enjoy this film or not as I am a lover for the more romantic films. But once the film started going on, I got more into it and really enjoyed it. It's different from most films nowadays and it was the first 3D film I've watched. I got bored halfway through the film, it would of been better watching it at home on a DVD somewhere comfortable as it goes on for a long time, rather than on an uncomfortable chair in the cinema! Here is a film whose plot is tapped into and entirely honed for the American psyche. Canadian born Cameron's handling of the wafer thin plot could hardly be more obvious. The delicately disguised assault in order to reap the wealth of amusingly named, but unoriginal "unobtainium," that lies beneath the feet of the righteously indignant primitive native inhabitants of Pandora is an interesting demonstration of a national guilt, made even more obvious by the structure of their... A fantastic blend of cgi, live action and strorytelling, even if it does occasionally fall into clich'e. In my opinion the greatest cinematic experience ever, with the most realistic fictional environment. James Cameron has breathed life into Pandora; evry tree, splash of water or insect crawling on a farawy plant are incredibly detailed, and the Na'vi are so photorealistic that I would not be able to explain how they are not real. It didn't become the highest grossing film of all time for... (read more)

They had such a great product, but the storeyline was sooooo dull. I wish I hadnt bothered, honestly. It could have been a FANTASTIC movie for everyone with just a little originality in the way of the plot, but unfortunately, it fell short for me becasue of that one major aspect.
I wont be watching it again, even for the special effects. (read more)

Wow! What a fantastic movie. It's been a while since I've been to the cinema and actually left saying "that was money well spent!"
We went to see the 3D version, which in my opinion is a must for a movie like this. The 3D was pretty spectacular, the best I've seen in a movie actually (of the few that I've seen in 3D).
The story, the animation, the scenery, the cast, everything just worked. The story is quite long, but flowed pretty well. The action scenes were brilliant, fast paced and... (read more)

I like Avatar very much. As a matter of fact, I do not often go to a cinema to watch movies. But I heard that Avatar is a great movie and is worthwhile to go to cinema, so I went to a cinema with my friends. I think it is totally worth doing so. I enjoy it from beginning to ending. I like the characters and the scenes. It is excellent. (read more)

Went from Crud to Ok !! .
This film for a teenager is very hard to understand the films storyline . felt very hard to get into this film. The film was also VERY REPETITIVE AND LONG , this film is far too long and can lose the storyline very quickly . Also the graphics are ok , but in 3D No Difference and a total waste of time , Go normal , Cinema was packed and i didnt understand , the film does have good parts just i couldnt understand ... one minute somewhere the next somewhere else i just... Absolutely stunning film. Having seen this relatively late, I expected that it was a bit over-hyped, but I must say I was really impressed by this film.
I thought the 3D aspect of the film might be a big of a gimmick (thinking here of 1980's 3D horror films where every now and then things leapt out of the screen in a very shoddy way), however, it was done beautifully. Toward the end of the film I forgot I was watching a 3D film and just felt fully immersed in this incredible world that... (read more)

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! We saw it twice once in 3-D, and regular cinema setting. The story line and setting enriches and refreshes one's imagination. This has to be one of the most enthralling films ever to hit the big screen. Everything about Avatar is unforgetable and how! The "three D" brings the film to life like no other film has ever done. You can't help but appreciate the hard work that has gone into the making of this film, and you can't help but be drawn into the film itself. Just over half way through the film I took a moment to look around the cinema and not one member of the audiance was moving, all were transfixed to the... (read more)

Avatar has a lot of positives as a film. The stroyline is excellent and the wide variety of characters makes the film even better. The special effects are excellent and really contribute to the plot. beautiful scenery and cool fx cannot makeup for the bad plot we have all seen many times before. this is a remake of dances with wolves with aliens, and i hated dances with wolves. i dont need to be reminded constantly of the way the us government treated the native americans, and that is what this movie does is remind us of slaughter and smallpox ridden blankets. the antagonists were so unbelievable it was hard to watch. but, sigourney weaver was great as always.i recommend watching the... The Real Value of James Cameron's "Avatar"
All the reviews of Avatar I've read seem to miss the real value of this visually stunning movie set on the fantastically alive planet of Pandora. While aspects of the plot are predictable, Avatar offers some powerful messages for our time once you scratch beneath the surface.
For those who are not firmly entrenched in our mainstream culture's cynicism and denial the movie, Avatar, is a powerful opportunity to sharply see and feel our current... (read more)

Avatar was an unreal movie. It was full of action and fantasy yet it was completly believable. It was very creative and not only told an amazing story but was a summary of what the world is really like today. It had romance, adventure and soul. Avatar really made me think about the choices people are forced to make every day. Other than that, the new 3D technology that was used made it feel like you were really in it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes scifi and fantacy films. ... (read more)

I was dragged along to see this movie... thought it would be a dull action adventure/sci-fi so my hopes weren't high.. I thought it was great and I was rivited to the chair.. it's a long film, but you hardly notice the length. To me, it drew on Native American experiences and religion and was a very moving portrayal of a fight for their way of life.
I would recommend this film as suitable viewing for all age groups, whatever genre you like, you will find it here...

Not many words can accurately describe this film apart from the obvious... WOW! GEES! and did I say WOW! stunning special CG effects and an interesting story-line (can't say that about many Sci-Fi's these days) that keeps one riveted to the screen for the entire duration some 2 hours 42 minutes. So you better have a comfortable seat and plenty of popcorn! It's a film that seems to have all the element of a fantastic adventure, and I wasn't let down in that aspect, Space ships, aliens, guns,... (read more)

Wow, worth every penny. Visually incredible (I saw it in 3D) even in the days of high tech effects. The story moves fast and you become immersed in the character like you are the avatar yourself. James Cameron's Avatar is a spectacular comeback from the Aliens and Terminator director. He has spent the last 4 years lavishly creating a 3D fantasy world that looks breathtakingly real and has refrained from using the usual 3D gimmicks (items that look like they're coming straight for you) instead the 3D enhances the experience making the animated characters merge seamlessly with the real life actors.
The story follows a long tradition of technology versus nature films (Ferngully for... (read more)
