“Broke my bike and blamed me, don't buy from them.”

I bought a brand new bike from J E James Sheffield in January, it was ok apart from that the gears weren't adjusted properly and the back brakes didn't really stop me. I took it back for the six week service and asked them to check the gears and brakes, I don't think they did anything as they were in the same state after the service. “AVOID: Useless, unhelpful and unknowledgable.”

JE James Cycles have been nothing but useless from the moment I ordered. For a start, they only had part of what I ordered in stock despite advertising as being in stock. To be incensed further, they were useless on the phone and were haphazard in the attempt to rectify the situation. To make matters worse, I had purchased a product that they recommended. “Worst customer service”

“Bad customer service”

I ordered a handlebar and some handlebar tape last week. They did not have the tape in stock so a mail was sent asking what to do about the order. I replied telling that they can either replace the tape with another similar product or drop it from the order completely and just send the handlebar. “Poor quality bearings, poor quality axle, poor everything”

After being sent the wrong quantity of bearings (short by half), after inspection showed they were all pitted!! What is going on here? Sold as weldtites but clearly not. I must challenge this comment. Our customer services never hang up on a customer and always give our customers the cheapest option for their order (hence the advice to order to receive Freepost). I think you have misinterpreted the intention of advice for your benefit as a negative attitude.

“Two deliverys and still missing bits, anyone seen my...”

Ordered a new Diamondback Peak HD, this took a week to arrive as described on their website (some companies can turn this around in 48hrs...) so, decided my bike must be getting a good going over before delivery. jejames administrator investigated and could only find a email form this customer 2 days after he claimed to have sent the cancelation,also it was the customer who was aggressive to our staff when we found no record of an initial email he had claimed to have sent.
The 5-10 day delivery is an estimate for stock brought in from the suppliers only, i think he was a little confussed.

“Stay away from JE James if you value customer service. ”

I asked to test ride a bike after the one I tried first was too small. I went in at the agreed time. It was not built. I went in again and was taken through the set up and tried the bike. I liked it. You'll never get an "appology", maybe an apology. Never bought from Wiggly or Chain Reactions. But have brought from Wiggle (poor) and Chain Reaction Cycles (excellent) though. Purchased a pair of Oakley Glasses from J.E. James, good price and very prompt delivery. Whilst 'Quality of service" may be one star as you never visited how can you give one star for "Shop Layout" and surely the price and free delivery made value for money higher? I always find a spell checker helps get your point across more eloquently.
