This is the worst product ever! Yes it does its job but only for alittle while then it starts beeping like a time bomb! This is the first iron that i saw that beeps like its mad! I bought 3 irons in 2009 and since then all 3 was changed over 4 times! It only lasts and works good for one year! When we do send it for fixing they take about two weeks to send a new one back so in that time we must look like bush babys! They just keep fixing and sending the same thing which has a couple month... (read more)

After a 14 months the 'automatic turn off' light keeps flashing and only one of the hot plates work. They were good when I first brought them but they broke far too soon. Deffinately not worth the money. (read more)

Bought cloud 9 straighteners as a change from GHDs after trying them at the hairdressers. Glide over hair and make hair smooth. Unfortunately after 14 months they have now broken and constantly beep and the lights flash but they don't heat up. Very disappointed as they were expensive and have lasted only just over a year. I've had my GHDs for at least 6 years and had no problems. I will be returning to GHD (read more)

I loved my Cloud Nine straightners when I first got them and recommended them to friends but after just over a year they are broken....and the warranty has run out! Reading the other reviews it seems like a common fault; they bleep continuously and don't heat up. I had my first pair of GHD's for 5 years before they died, I will definitely be going back to GHD's. Feel very disappointed that I have to fork out for another pair of straightners after only a year. (read more)

After having my cloud 9 hair straitner , for 4months and paying $350 nz.I went away for the weekend took my hairstraitner, to my surprise found a large crack going from the bottom of the heated plate to the base of the handle.after speaking to 3 different people including a sales rep for cloud 9, they came to the conclusion it was not a manufacturing fault it was an impact fault caused by myself, I was extremely disappointed, paying tht much for a hairstraitner which did an awsome job of... I paid approximately £130 18 months ago. They have worked fine until today. Sadly the green light is flashing turn off and they are constantly beeping at me. I have been a GHD lover for years but thought I'd venuture out and try something new. It's safe to say GHD's last much longer! (read more)

I love these straighteners, Due to the fact that they have different heat settings, I found GHD's were too hot for my hair. Also the customer service are brilliant, After 18 months my hair straighteners developed a fault I sent them back with the receipt on Wednesday and a new pair were back with me by Saturday. I bought these after my hairdresser used them on me, loved how they made my hair look and my GHDs weren't working so well after 7 years of daily use!!! Paid the extra £30 to get Cloud 9s instead of GHDs, they've been ok but tbh I never use any heat setting except full - this is the only really selling point over GHDs. Anyway, the point is, just after the 12 month warranty expired, they developed an electrical fault and no longer work at all - the bottom light flashes constantly and they... (read more)

These are fantastic, really love them. I have shoulder length curly hair with some frizz and have used GHD’s for over 10 years to get my hair poker straight, by my 4th pair I was so disappointed, the quality had gone down hill and they just did not style my hair like the original GHD’s used too. So took my 4th pair back and went on the hunt for some new ones. After reading many reviews I went for these Cloud 9’s and they did not disappoint. They look good - very sleek and stylish and... my straightners just arrived and as a hairdresser i was amazed how much better than ghd`s they are. i have very difficult hair to straighten but i thought i would try them at 180 heat not thinking they would work i was shocked at how straight my hair went. my hair usually goes fly away and static after using ghd`s but this also did not happen. the best pair of straightners to hit the market so far and i have used a lot of diffirent brands. Had my Cloud Nines for 5 months. and they're broken. sent them back, they returned them apparently repaired however no phone call no email just left them in my wheelie bin the day before rubbish was due to be collected!! and no refund of postage even though receipt enclosed. had them back for 5 days and broken again. the common fault everyone has mentioned they start beeping and then turn off. I rang them and had to leave a message and oh what a surprise no call back! NEVER using them again.... (read more)

After owning GHD for 6 years it finally died and I decided to invest in a Cloud Nine as they were supposed to be better than the new GHDs. I have to say as far as usability it was absolutely fantastic. However, 6 months in and it has already died. Whenever I turn it on, the 'automatic turn off' light starts flashing and it turns itself off. Not what you would expect from a $300 straightener! Apparently this is a common fault and they have had many returns so far. Having been advised they... (read more)

Having used GHD's for the last 6 years I decided to give Cloud 9's a try. My hair is fine and is naturally wavy with a tendency to frizz especially in damp weather. Initially I was impressed with the speed at which the Cloud 9's straightened my hair leaving is smooth, straight and shiny but unfortunately within minutes of being outside my hair started to wave and and go frizzy at the ends. As I wanted to be fair in my decision regarding these straighteners I continued to use them tryng... (read more)

I used to love ghd's...that was until i owned CLOUD NINE!
In My professional Opinion nothing comes close to the cloud nine. It glides through the curliest / frizziest of hair and leaves a high glossy shine and the result is pin straight soft hair that feels like you just had a treatment.
Your hair remains straight and smooth for days (unlike the ghd) Also i like that cloud nine has excellent customer service... and i have not had any issues with my styler as yet. I would recommend this to...

I have never come across a product of such amazing technology in my 18 yrs of hairdressing. It is without a shadow of a doubt the best iron on the market! The heat settings are easy to use and work phenomenally well. The condition of my hair, being very fine, bleached and damaged, has never been better. I love the heat guard and sock, you are guarenteed to lesson potential damage and maintain the ceramics like never before. The cord is awsome!!!! No more running around looking for... (read more)

A fantastic iron for the money great build quality, the micro straightener from C9 is small its not as long as the Ghd fine blade model. Its small enough to go in a handbag or take on vacation.
I went for the standard but may buy the micro for shorter details in my hair I would advise anyone to shop around the web there are some good deals to be found for authorised salon sellers

My lond bleached hair had been straightened with GHD's for about 4 years; I used to use full heat for the lengths and then turn them off to cool down for my fringe. They are fantastic BUT they ULTIMATLY DESTROY YOUR HAIR!
Cloud 9's are superb - The lower temps mean your hair has more volume as high heat 'flattens' the hair; Cloud 9's allow you all thats GHD's did - high heat if you want it, but lower heat so you can give your hair the TLC it deserves. They are superb.

I used ghd's for 2 years now I had a pair of standard and thinner irons, they where starting to look a bit tatty from use. My husband ordered me a pair of Cloud Nine hair Straighteners he was recommended them from a friend, they have only been around a couple of months. They have been devised from the same founders of the original ghd iron.
To compare like for like they are lighter black in colour with a really nice look and feel to them. I have medium hair the instructions give ratings...
