“Expensive and not worth it”

I asked BG to give me a quote on a now boiler as my boiler is getting quite old now. BG qoted over £2000 for a simple job to change my existing boiler and install a new one in the same position. Some brick buildingwork and plastering was required as was a power flush and treatment of the heating sysem. I also wanted a new radiator in the bathroom which was included in the price. I took out a Homecare 200 agreement with British Gas in 2010 and I have not looked back.

I would like to thank the engineers that cover the Brentwood/ Shenfield area for proffessionally addressing a number of problems that had previously caused me a lot of distress. All of their work has been carried out in an efficient and timely manner.

I chose to go with British Gas to install our new boiler as there was a lot of work to do and I wanted it to be done properly - concerned with what you hear about dodgy gas fitters! I knew I was paying over the odds with BG but I thought it would be worth it to have an expert job! - it was a complete fallacy. Once they took my money a contractor (not a BG employee) turned up with his apprentice and made a complete mess of the job - his boy wonder apprentice managed to ruin three rooms... (read more)
