The Grasshopper Inn Moorhouse, Nr Westerham
    Westerham, TN16 2EU , Sat 31st October 2009
It was My Fathers 80th Birthdays and as a family decided to visit this place to have a meal there. Little did we know that it would turn into a Fawlty towers sketch... firstly the drinks at the Bar was stale we had to get 2 drinks changed i shall list the events so to save space
Waitress was a very Stern and miserable excuse for a human being
Seating was one place short. Even though we pre-booked the table.
Lighting to dark to see menus
    No table cloth. Or
The place was empty even though this was Halloween night (clue)
We waited half hour to get orders then half hour to get served.
Orders given to wrong people had to be swapped around.
Very small portions and almost see though bread with substitute butter.
No condiment was offered with the meals and only one jug of water for 11 people.
Main meal uneatable steak that was chewy and undercooked,
Three members of the family had the same order with the same outcome.
We asked to replace them, only to return with just as badly cooked steaks as before!
We complained to the manager, who said that it was fine and a perfect steak and tried to cut it up in front of a member of the family to prove his point! And argued with two other members of the family accusing them of lying! he then went out and brought in the chef to make his point, even when it was evident with the bits of Gristle and 3/8 left cold steak on the plates that the food was substandard,
The manager finally admitted that the food was of substandard and cancelled the charge for the meal... this was meant to be a special night for or family ruined by this arrogant and condescending Manager JAMES HOWARD.
We left the GRASSHOPPER INN and headed home for fish and chips instead... this is an experience that we will never forget, if you wish to have a FAWLTY TOWERS experience the i highly recommend the place, otherwise stay clear of this Place at all costs for you will regret paying over the odds for lower than substandard food and service.
