It seems to be the same for all Weatherspoons. Food prices increasing and portion sizes reducing. Burger and chips used to be a full meal, now if you get 15 chips you've done well. However, I don't really go in there for the food. I go in for the beer. About twice a year Weatherspoons have a beer festival, which is always excellent... except at the Telford Weatherspoons where you are lucky to have a choice of 4 different (non regular) beers. I recently went to the beer festival at Bridgenorth Weatherspoons and could choose from 7 or 8 beers. During the beer festival Weatherspoons do a fantastic deal where for the price of a pint you get 3 one third pint glasses of a sample of each of 3 festival ales. I went to the Telford version of the beer festival the following day and they had 2 beers to choose from. I was offered the 2 festival beers and a third sample of a basic standard beer as their version of the deal.
The problem with the Telford Weatherspoons as that it's the only pub, and indeed restaurant in the town centre. So, food in there costs more than other branches of Weatherspoons and so does beer. It also caters for Friday night lager drinkers (having bouncers on the door at weekends).
Frankly, I wouldn't go there if it wasn't the only pub within easy reach.
