The assesor came out and agreed with my mechanic that the part had collapsed and then wrote a report to Autoprotect saying ware and tare!! Great 1700 pounds later. Please let me know how you get on as I have the parts and am thinking about getting an independent report on the parts to try and argue the point with them.

I got a gold warranty warranty from this company for 'worry free motoring for 2 years2. SInce then the warranty company has caused me no amount of problems, conveniently finding magical loopholes to get out of paying for anything to do with my car. They initally didn't process my paperwork and told me to pay the bill out of my own money to be reimbursed. They then said they wouldn't reimburse me as it wasn't covered under warranty. I was saddled with a £350 bill just after already forking out on a £1500 car. After phoning them every day, I finally got a laughable cheque for £65, to which I continued to ring them for 2 more months and finally got reimbursed the money. Every single person at the company seemed to not know whether I should be reimbursed or not which shows they don't communicate with each other at all. They don't seem to cover heating/cooling or wiring... what I would like to know is what they actually DO cover! NOTHING!

It was inspected by someone from Millbank Engineers, and i would be interested to know if it was them that looked at your car. In response to the comments posted on the 29th February 2012 regarding the Auto Protect Gold Warranty purchased via Quirks Car Co Ltd in June 2011, and the car having covered 14,000 miles in that period, the Policy (which was signed by the customer) clearly states that cracked cylinders are not covered under the particular Policy. With reference to "excluded due to carbon build up" this refers to the valves and not the cylinder whatsoever, so therefore the Policy clearly has been misread as the valves bear no relevance to the fault in question, furthermore proving that the Policy had not been mis sold by the Dealer.
