I took out a motor loan with GE Capital Car Loan around 4 years ago. Not only did they take double payments in the first 2 months through their own mistakes but they also cannot produce the original agreement so that I can have a copy for my own records.
A really unhelpful organisation and I would definately not recommend.

The operator I spoke to was not your usual friendly, customer servic agent. However, they were to the point and got my query sorted.

We bought a car in Oct 03 from Citroen. Took some finance with GE Capital Woodchester. By end of 04 had enough money to pay it off. One of their folk phoned us asking if we would like to extend loan or take new loan. Said No. Asked for settlement figure. Got one. Sent cheque. They got back in touch and asked for another hundred quid to settle it. We sent that. They wrote back and asked for another £90 to finalise settlement.

If you need a car GE Capital Woodchester will help, but not with other things.
I had so many problems with The Mercedes C class. It was a 1998 R reg, and it was a Lemon.

Shame these firms can not offer finance at proper dealers rather than big supermarkets or back street dealers.

Use someone else. Used Haydock Finance and UDT before with no problem.

All I wanted from GE Capital Woodchester car loans was a 'subject to settlement clearance' letter. I had to request this THREE times, in between which I got given a number to ring, which turned out to be the completely wrong department, and therefore I had to go back through to 'customer service' for the fourth conversation. I got told the account was in arrears when it wasn't, and I was told that I would receive the fax within 10 - 15 minutes when they had problems with their systems, and I lat ...

Where do I begin? GE Capital Woodchester must get awards regularly on their lack of customer service. The calls to you are made morning noon and night, and usually start from 8am and up to 9pm seven days a week. Whatever you tell one person, another rings and you have to explain everything again. Send a form back to them, and the next phone call you get they say they have never received it. Getting someone to understand what you are saying or understand their agents is best if you speak any othe ...

I had a loan for a car from GE Capital Woodchester Car Loan's. As I was doing very well, I had plenty of work and could afford the repayments. I was offered PREMIER payment protection. Thinking the way life can go it would be a good idea. 3 months later I had a brain hemorrhage (damn), nothing in the family to suggest I may have this sort of problem, but it happened. Ahhh payment protection I thought. To cut a long story short. It's like talking to a brick wall!! They really don't care!!

I sent a cheque on 27th July 2005, to pay off an outstanding loan on a car, along with a letter. I found out the cheque had been paid into their account on 29th July, but when contacted said that they didn't have knowledge of this!!

Eventually after repeated telephone calls with negative result, I sent a letter on 11th August threatening legal action . I telephoned today 17th August, and was told that the loan is now cleared, but that written confirmation would not be sent out until after 2 ...

Where do I begin!!! The agents do not help you, or understand what you are trying to ask them, they are useless and so uncaring with certain situations. They do not call you back or help you.
I asked a simple question to change the name of the agreement, still keeping the same amount of money borrowed, but they said "no we cannot do that", which is complete rubbish, as I spoke to a solicitor who said "by law they would have to cancel the agreement and open a new agreement in my partners name ...

I bought a used BMW a year ago, financed through GE Capital Woodchester. I have been trying ever since to get a copy of my hire-purchase agreement, but the company ignore all my letters and e-mails. I'm actually trying to settle the loan early, as I now think their rates are extortionate. Sadly I can't proceed because they don't answer my correpondence

GE Capital Woodchester Car Loan - It is just poor service you get from them. I have even wrote to them and got no answer and they say they're there to help. That's rubbish, I would never take anything with GE.

My boyfriend recently bought a car and took out his finance with G E Capital, everything was fine until we suddenly noticed what the interest rate was, 30%. Total rip off! He phoned and asked them for an early settlement quote and in all fairness this came within a coulpe of days.
He is now thinking of transfering the remaining balance onto a 0% credit card to get it paid quicker, but after reading reviews on here I dont know if it is a good idea, just worried in case they say they haven't rec ...

In spite of written confirmation from. GE Capital Woodchester Car Loan Customer Service Department that an alleged agreement had been cancelled. I am still beiing threatened by the Collections Department with legal action for the recovery of some £3,500. In spite of letters and copies of documentary evidence proving that there is no agreement with GE Capital, they seem unable to accept that their internal management systems obviously do not communicate with each other.

I sent funds via internet transfer to pay off the balance of my car loan in order to use my car as part exchange for a new one. Every time I called GE Capital Woodchester they claimed not to have received the money. I was counting on a swift transfer, in order to seal the deal on my new car, I did not find GE Capital swift at all. They admitted that the money was 'probably' in their account, but that they couldn't see it on their 'system'. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I couldn't. V ...

GE Capital Woodchester took £925.80 (final car loan settlement) from my account TWICE. Eventually stated it will be 16 days later before they can send a cheque with refund.

Recently bought a brand new car. The finance provided by GE Capital Woodchester was explained to me throughout in 36 payments. When everything was finalised i was shocked to learn that there were 37, the final payment being nearly 500 quid extra. The garage and the finance company got my bank details incorrect between them which is when i started to get threatening phone calls from the finance company. I spent at least a month ringing THEM to sort this problem out, which wasnt my fault, but i ju ...

Had a car loan with GE Capital Woodchester. After months of payments 'on time and no problems' my husband had operation and was off work sick. He had to make numerous calls to GE Capital as they said they hadn't recieved the claim form (it magically appeared 3 months later).
Customer services speak to you like rubbish and seem to pass the buck all the time, costing us a fortune in phone calls. Been 5 months now and still the payment protection claim is not sorted. Very big 'claws' in the pay ...

Wanted to settle early, viz after 40% of term, and they wanted virtually whole interest for a five year term.
