    Good Points: None

Bad Points: Online banking is essential not existing Staff at Online helpline is incomprehendable

General comments: I have a small consulting company (about 200K/year) and actually very little demands at my business account. The only think I request from any bank account is that they provide a decent online banking facility. What TBS dares to call "online banking" is utterly ridiculous. Just a few points: 1. Any transaction done on the "online" platform is actually not done real-time but within the next working day. 2. The "online" platform is nothing more than a web-based instruction-blog. These instructions will then being processed the next working day. 4. The system is not even capable within a single session to calculate new balances based on the instructed payments just entered. 5. If you want to setup a payment to a new payee you will require at least two working days to do so. First day you will setup a new payee with a reference. On the second working day you can then instruct a payment to this new payee. 6. If you want to use references for your various payments, you cannot do so during the actual payment. You will have to setup a new payee with this new reference. E.g. If I pay myself monthly expenses I will have to setup a new payee with the montlly reference each single time. However, even by doing this it seems these references are never received at my private bank account (citibank), though not sure which faults this is. 7. The maximum amout you can instruct for any online payment is 10K, so I had to split VAT returns into several batches. 8. I support the idea of having local call-centers but only if they use staff which does not speak with a thick scottish accent. I have to confess I was really appreciating my "Bangalore"-Hotline with citibank when I had to go through this. In my opinion: Basicially anyone who requires online functionality with his business account should avoid TBS at all costs. I can`t comment of any other services, since I don`t require them at all. I will change my account asap, since I strongly believe it can`t come worse anywhere else.

Lets be honest, there are no good banks. They get away with treating us customers like dirt because they know we need them and they're all as bad as each other. LloydsTSB however, has taken this to new lows. Recently they 'lost' a considerable sum of my money (when I say lost I mean they debited it from one account and it mysteriously vanished!, 3 weeks later and still my cash is nowhere to be seen. Fair enough you may say, accidents happen, but their customer service staff refuse to call me bac ...

I've just closed my Lloyd's TSB bank account, now have free business banking for life, not paying there charges, i'm only a small home business, and as their banking charges were going up I decided to go elsewhere, on closing my account with them they took all my money as a fee for cancelling my account, without notifying me they were going to do so.Am now writing to get my money back

Lloyds TSB Business Bank Account can be difficult to deal with call centre, especially international . You can't service a euro account online. Poor value - very low interest rate paid, and no interest at all on euro account. Moving to Bank of Scotland - wish me luck!

Not good, customer service at Lloyds TSB is good except everything has to go through your bank manager, who in my case is "difficult".

I have been a personal banking customer with Lloyds for over 10 years with no problems. I decided to open a business account in advance of starting my business, which then due to illness was delayed. Within 4 months, Lloyds sent me a letter saying that the cheques I'd requested cancelled were duly being dealt with. News to me! When I called them, they said that they were closing my account as no money had gone in it and that in fact the letter was generated by them even though it stated that ...

I have banked with Lloyds for nearly 16 years, the customer service used to be really good, how times have changed. I opened a business bank account with them in March 2007, because they promised they would "support every need of your business". I may take them to court for misleading the customer. They have no customer service and no interest in helping you build your business. They just want profits. If you want your business to succeed, stear well clear of Lloyds.

I have banked personally with Lloyd's for 35 years. As a family for 27 years and as a business for 11 years. We have had very little to complain about over these years. The counter service is always excellent. New cards\cheque books\paying in books come promptly on time. The internet banking is very easy to use and the help line has always solved my problems - but sometimes there is a bit of a wait if you call at busy times. I wish they would be more upfront about their interest rates ...

I have had a personal account with Lloyds for more than 10 years. They were very responsive and helpful at the start. About two years ago the level of service I have received deteriorated from non existent to appalling since. However, being a loyal customer I decided to open a Lloyds TSB Business Bank Account. This was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I have been unable to meet with my business banking manager. Have had poor responses to calls. More frustrating is that my business debit ...

I've banked with Lloyds for years - and I'm looking to close all my accounts now. I am so annoyed about the most recent communications from them, and the unavailability of someone who can do anything about it - could they phone me at work tomorrow? ( when that's totally unrelated to my business account). All they want is more money in charges and a reduced service to me because it's such a small business.

Lloyds TSB take huge amounts of time before answering the telephone. You cannot talk to any one more senior than a line manager when you wish to find out why it is taking so long to sort out a loan on a mortgage to purchase a car and do some extensive alterations/improvements on a property (in spite of the fact that the account has been with the bank for 15 years, with a good credit history and credit rating, no loans defaulted on, well within loan limits, repayments are a very small amount ove ...

We were struggling a little, but all they did was cancel our overdraft facility, gobble up my wages and bounce the mortgage direct debit. I am in the process of opening new accounts elsewhere, then I will take things further with Lloyds TSB.

I have been a personal customer with them for 10 years. During that time they have made mistakes, but generally they have been resolved to my satisfaction. As I was a personal customer I decided to open a business account with Lloyds TSB as soon as my new business was set up. This was the worst decision I have ever made. The account took about two weeks to set up, during which time I left half a dozen messages for the manager opening the account to contact me - she never did. Once th ...

I have banked with Lloyds TSB for almost four years now, and while they're poor, they've not given me enough of a reason to leave as yet, with all of the complications which that entails. My biggest problems with Lloyds are the non-existent business manager. It's practically impossible to get a hold of them since they are always in meetings, on breaks or off on holiday. I am now on my third business manager, and each has been less interested and helpful than the last. Calls are not returned ...

I am a small business needing quick access to my funds, and I find it difficult to get to a bank during normal working hours. I have only banked with Lloyds for just over 6 months. In this time my experience with them has been nothing short of pitiful!! On opening the account I was assured that all of my direct debits would be moved for me, no hassle! What a joke this was! I ended up spending a day setting them all up myself after 2 months of having the account. They had apparently sent requ ...

My partner is self employed, and the Lloyds business account was doing OK; not holding hoards of money, but not regularly overdrawn. However, we lost a large client last month which has left us a little bit short, and therefore our account has been overdrawn. Lloyds sent a letter telling us to call and they would see what they could do to help. We explained about the client leaving and that we were expecting four new smaller ones by the end of June, and we asked for help until then. Our manager ...

I have banked with Lloyds TSB since starting my business 2 years ago. They have met all my needs, and I am satisfied with the overall level of service. I do not need much from a bank, so I opted for the lowest level of service, but still get regular customer courtesy calls from the same account manager who knows me and understands my business. Account charges are a little high after the initial free period, but having read reviews of other banks, this is far outweighed by the generally excell ...

I am quite frankly appalled at the poor level of service offered by Lloyds TSB Business Banking. I've never communicated with such a bunch of incompetent individuals in all my life, from the central call centre to the business banking centre. Last month I came to a crucial point in the development of my business and contacted Lloyds TSB business banking to arrange some essential finance. This was in the form of an extended overdraft. As has been the case several times when trying to conta ...
