“Limited Company Banking ”

I recently tried to set up a Limited Company bank account with Lloyds. It was the worst experience of my life. They said they couldn't due to the fact of a duplicate postcode in the registered office, this had also happened to two of my friends. I write this review on 10/10/2014 as after 2 months I have finally had progress with my account. “Lying, Arrogant, Rude, Grossly Incompetent etc”

Do not open a Business Account with this bank. I have waiting for over 2 months for them to open a business account and I can still not pay anything in. Minimum waiting time for the call centre is 20 mins. When you do get through they don't know their elbow from their..... They forget to ask for certain letters/missives and you wonder why there is no progress, you call them and they then inform you they are waiting for a letter that they haven't told you that they need. Incompetence and non-truths, excessive wait times to speak to a lying person. 6 weeks since I applied to open business account. If the processes to setup a new account are not fit for purpose , then Lloyds should not encourage new business as it is evident they do not particularly want your business. It does make you wonder about the entire Lloyds business. I shall soon be an ex-personal account holder as a business behaving like this are obviously on a downward spiral. “No words can describe how bad Lloyds Commercial has become”

My business has been with Lloyds Commercial for 5 years. At the outset we had a business manager who visited once a year, I had their mobile number and things would get done quickly and satisfactorily. Over the last couple of years our business manager started to change about every 3 months and eventually was dropped and we were handed over to our 'relationship team' in a call centre somewhere. “In two words Appalling and Avoid ”

Time taken to set up , 6 weeks and counting , still no basic acount access to use the account . They won't give you a basic debit card for four months into the account unless you are an existing Lyodds customer . Helplines are chock a block ( 20 minute wait mininum) and frankly it's obvious they still have not integrated RSB Halifax and Loydds systems at all . No wonder they went bust . I agree I can't believe how appalling the service is , I started the process in May it's now ten weeks later and it's till no nearer to being complete , I have rung several times for updates and have been promised a call back each time and have had nothing , this gives me no faith what ever in this bank , if they can't do this for a new customer what on earth will they be like with a existing one , not for me will cut my losses and now go else where , totally agree with the chap above

It seems like obtaining a BASIC business bank account from any high street bank in the UK is a major headache these days. I just want a basic account, no finance/loans or credit cards required - you'd think that would be easy? It really isn't. I have just registered with Lloyds Bank for a business account. I have had business accounts previously with Lloyds when Lloyds TSB and had minimal problems.This time unbelievable. Our account is now set up only to be told I am sorry but you can NOT have a debit card for the account for at least 3-4 months to see how the account is managed. It is almost impossible to indicate just how bad the service from LLOYDS BUSINESS BANKING is,even branch managers cannot support this disaster of a Management structure. They know nothing, care less cannot find your account and leave you holding for ever. “Not even close to being fit for purpose.”

Where do I start? Everything about Lloyds business account is awful. The online banking is painful mainly due to having to use the PIN reader for virtually everything you do. It's around 5 years behind most other online accounting services I've used. Worst of all though is absoloutley NO communication from the bank. I have tried so many times to give Lloyds TSB Commercial the benefit of the doubt but their customer service is terrible. The departments are split up so you need to be transferred multiple times and join new wait queues to get anything done, and they are just not helpful. Our relationship manager is just as bad. he has no interest in our business and purely works towards managing the banks risk and making us jump through unnecessary hoops to get even the most basic thing done. I am still on a quest to get my Lloyds business account up and running and it has been a disaster from start to (still not) finished. We began the process at the beginning of November last year and chose Lloyds for no other good reason than it appeared to be quick. Every step of the way we have had faults. I have been running a small (medico-legal) business (apart from my NHS job) for 25 years and have recently retired. My wife and I decided to expand the business, became a limited company, registered for v.a.t and wound up the old business. Set up a Business account with my local TSB branch many years ago, they merged with Lloyds and it made no difference "ok service". A few month ago when they split I find out that my local branch is staying TSB "which I took my account out with" but i'm now a Lloyds customer and had to travel 5 miles and pay for parking to pay money in? not happy. Lloyds have just cancelled 2 business debit cards for NO REASON. There's plenty of money in each account. I call > nobody knows why they were cancelled. To right just one big rip of bank even after you think you have closed account the keep it open and charge a fee every month send no statements etc for over a year then say you owe them x amount of £

I HAVE A LLYODS BUISINESS ACCOUNT FOR OVER 30 YEAR OUT OF THE BLUE I GET A LETTER TELLING ME I HAVE TO TAKE PASSPORT DRIVER LICENSE COPIES OF MY BANK STATEMENT BY SEPTEMBER OR THEY WILL CLOSE MY ACCOUNT. Thinking it should be easier and quicker to open up a business bank account with Lloyds as I already have a personal account with them, I was completely wrong. Not only did I have to go through all the ID checks but I had to call numerous times to remind them to post me my information pack and internet banking details. Completely agree. I thought the same, that it would be easier take out a business loan with them for a new business as I already have a business account there. I was told I ticked all the boxes but it needed approval from another team. They had a full breakdown of all the cost and comprehensive business plan. After chasing for 2 weeks - each time having to go through laborious chain of people and security to speak to a business manager in Scotland (I'm in Essex!) and waiting to be called back which invariable did not happen. I was asked permission to do a credit check and then asked again all the details pertinent to the loan that were clearly stated in the business plan. I asked how long it would take for a formal approval and I was told 5-15 working days the same as two weeks earlier when I had first put in my business loan application!! Time was imperative which was made clear to Lloyds from the start as I needed to complete the purchase before the end of August. So yesterday after more numerous calls from my end and no replies I am told Lloyds don't loan on goodwill!!!! I have always made clear the goodwill sum from the begining and my portion of the purchase prices covers the goodwill. They have wasted my time, had a damaging credit check carried out on me and may well loose the business now. NEVER DEAL WITH THIS BANK

similar experience here when we wanted to add a second signing account to our existing solvent, business account, long standing and in good order. Branch said could not process it, it had to be authorised by a Relationship Manager who could only be reached by phone. After several abortive phone calls, eventually told they could not be contacted as they "were busy" and would call back. Never did and doubt they actually exist. Suspect Lloyds actively discouraging new accounts or expansion of existing ones. AVOID.
