    Sunmed Holidays, based in Toronto, were a huge disappointment. We thought they'd be okay to book some of our recent Portuguese trip, since they deal almost exclusively with this part of the world, but they were horrible. First, the price for the Toronto-Lisbon flight that they quoted was far higher than the prices I'd seen advertised in the paper. (I booked the lower rate.) The hotel they booked for us in the Algarve turned out to be a filthy, noisy, un-airconditioned dump that was miles from the beach, for $450 for three nights. (Everything else that we booked ourselves was fabulous, at half the price.) And the car rental place they use forces you to pay an additional 100 euros, on top of the supposedly paid-in-full price. When I told Rafael at Sunmed about these problems, he first said he'd look into them, then stalled, then made excuses, then when I called back after waiting a month and a half he yelled at me on the phone. I was pretty surprised how rude and unprofessional he was. I would never, never deal with this company again.
