    Pete Fountain is a great clarinetist but this album 'The Best Of' is far from his best recorded music.There is a variety of tunes on offer but the majority fail to give a true representation of his technical and musical ability. I was very disapointed on first playing this album and repeated playing has not changed my mind.

    Overal I would not recommend this offering to anyone. There are far better recordings made by him that are available for the discerning listener. Before purchasing this album I would have liked to have had some idea of the aproximate dates of the recordings featured as I feel that the material does not reflect his virtuosity or his best work.
