I like the fact I'm insured and your prices weren't too bad. There is little to no communication from yourselves compared to other insurance companies I've been with. I would have liked easier access to an online account, documents to download sent to my inbox and just an update every now and then.

Initial Insurance coverage price is good. Renewal price is ALWAYS inflated resulting in my cancelation of policy at end of term and re application direct. This takes extra time and inconvenience and ends up with the exact same policy as that offered at renewal but at a MUCH lower pricer. Very sneaky!!

Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. Certain information such as vehicle value, mileage, occupation, address can differ in ratings over the course of a year and the renewal price may be based on incorrect information (We always ask that customers check the documents to ensure the information is up to date).
When these bits of information are corrected then the true price is shown on the quote.
If you'd like us to look into this further please feel free to contact us.
Kind regards,
Tash

Insured my bike via one of the comparison sites and Hastings were the best quote in terms of extras and reasonable excess. I wanted protected no claims and declared a claim for accidental damage. When the policy came through it had no protected no claims and the claim was recorded as a collision. Tried to call there customer service on 2 occasions and it takes for ever to get someone to speak to. They then tell you that they are the wrong person but they will have the right team call you back. I am still waiting!

I've been with Hastings first a while now. The coverage has been great and I've had very very few problems. However last October, my car was hit from behind and I made a claim. The car was deemed an economic write off (even though now I've checked and it seems it's been fixed and running!) And I was given some money for it. One of the agents said that they would be requesting their costs from the insurance company of the person who hit me. The agent i spoke to informed me that i should not be left out of pocket and so they would be looking to recover all the costs including my £400 excess. They did say that getting these back usually takes a long time which I accepted. I contacted Hastings in March wherein they said they will send a chaser that day. Why wasn't a chaser sent before my call? Then on April 25th, I called again and no change. I called a few weeks later and was told to contact the law firm dealing with the case who said that they had received payment from the insurance company and we're closing the case. I asked if that included my excess and they said to speak to Hastings. I then received a letter from Hastings stating that they were closing the case as their costs have been covered. I called a few days later asking when I would be getting the £400 excess as promised. I was told that they had not asked for this. I'm very confused about this and asked why not. Surely it would have been easier to request this at the same time! The agent I spoke to was nice and sent an email to the insurance company copying me in asking them for the excess. Although this is helpful, it just seems like I've been left to do the work Hastings should have done (and promised to do). If I had known that Hastings was not going to request the excess, I could have started to chase myself but now on top of my other commitments, I have to chase this excess cost of £400 which is highly inconvenient and may prove costly. It is a considerable amount of money so I will be looking to chase it but it would have been easier for Hastings to do this or to be advised correctly when this was happening. In future, get ALL the costs from the 3rd party insurer, this makes things easier!

I was sent my car insurance renewal information and was quoted £700. I used a comparison website and the cheapest option for exactly the same cover and benefits was £330. Both were from Hastings so I wonder why the cheaper option was not offered on my renewal???? And I was charged for the privilege of cancelling the original insurance by Hastings. I'm not stupid enough to pass up a cheaper deal and renewed with Hastings but surely existing customers should be treated with a bit more loyalty..

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your renewal, we very much appreciate the opportunity to learn and improve. Web prices can and do fluctuate on a daily basis and on occasion will improve upon a 'paper' quote which is static for 28 days. We're always happy to be able to pricematch if you give us a call with the new quote reference, too.
Kind regards,
Joe

I originally found Hastings offer for car insurance though a comparative website, I was very happy with the price and I decided to go with them and pay online. I filled out the details but as I was trying to go through the payment process there was an error and it wouldn't go through. The error could have been with my bank or with Hastings. It was very late and as I couldn't do anything till the morning I saved the proposed quotation as suggested by Hastings and I thought I will ring in the morning and pay than. I rang Hastings the next morning only a few hours after I found the price online. I gave them the reference number of my saved quote and realised the price had gone up by £40. I told them that is not the price I was given only a few hours earlier and I told them about the error and that my payment would not go through. But they said I had to pay what that quote says now and they could not give me the price that was originally quoted even if it was only a few hours old. I still went with Hastings as it was cheaper than other insurance companies but I was not happy to pay extra £40 for something that was not my fault.

Unfortunately they were unable to price match but were the cheapest with the extras included. I went for the premium package which includes the usuals including breakdown recovery. As of yet I've not received anything for that i.e. Membership details etc. So now I have to call and find out if anything will/should arrive.

With only just become insured with Hastings I can't really comment, I did mine over the Internet so have not been in contact with anyone from the company not even to say my insurance application was successful, a letter to confirm would have been nice. I feel a review would be better after someone has tried to make a claim.

At all steps of the process staff are very polite. However the processes are very slow and at placed duplicated. One document was not correct another was out of date. Better QA needed.

I have a personal number plate so was dissapointed to find out it would cost me an additional £25 to update my policy when I've had this transferred to my new car.

Bit of a joke really if someone takes insurance out for a provisional licence it's kind of obvious that they will be changing over to a full licence soon so to charge extreme amounts for the insurance on a full licence or have to pay a get out fee. Sorry I used them but guess we all live and learn

Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback and review here. I'm sorry that there was an increase in premium for your change. As the driver will now be unsupervised and inexperienced the risk increases so your insurer needs to take that into consideration. I appreciate your frustration at the same time however.
Kind regards,
Joe

It's too early to tell for sure as I've only been insured about 15hours - Try sending this after a longer time span. The service so far is good though. I rang and spoke to the person I dealt with who was very helpful and friendly and in the end got Hastings a sale.

A good price & very easy process initially. But after being requested to send my proof of no claims & registration docs it would've been nice to have receipt confirmed so that I knew my insurance was ok. Having made an error with some info meaning I had to confirm it by email, again it would've been nice to know it has been received & that everything is satisfactory.

Although gave good quote you took payment straight away. I still had three weeks to run before new insurance kicked in. You should tell any prospective new customer that you will be doing this.you have now made me incur bank charges, thank you very much, much appreciated! However, cover was easy to decide on but had to go through unnecessary selection and deselection of products when a list and tick box would suffice on page 1. Otherwise bit of faffing around online but can be done. Just takes a little longer than is necessary.
