Here at Harmony Technologies we have fitted a range of CCTV systems from different suppliers but none have surpassed expectations as well as DDS. Their friendly and helpful staff are always on hand to offer advice. Their aftercare is also the best around. Just like to say a massive thank you to sales and tech support, Keep up the great work. “Disappointed”

I purchased my system from the premises in Hinchingbrooke Business Park. They are nice friendly people but I am very disappointed with what I was sold. I have a Vistron DVR and two cameras and I purchased them specifically to be able to view my home remotely from a device when I am not there. I was told that the app would work on iPhone and iPads. It has never worked properly on the iPad mini, the resolution is not right for the screen size. You cant use the app features and half the image is cut off. The app that you are advised you to use is called FREEIP and its worse than useless. Three days ago it stopped working completely despite trying on three different devices ( two iPhones and an iPad) in different locations. The system itself works fine but I have no reason to sit in my house watching what is going on outside of it on my TV!! I need to see what is happening when I am NOT HERE. This is not the first time there has been an issue. One of the cameras went off and I was advised by someone at DDS over the phone to 'pull the plug off the end of it' and he repeatedly asked me ' who made the wire'. It was a moulded plug and I bought it from DDS so I would assume they know 'who made it' better than I do and the plug doesnt come off! I returned the camera and was given a new wire with no issues but the the wires are not good quality and despite my system sitting untouched in a cupboard out of sight, the others camera wire is showing signs of falling apart where the plug meets the wire. When we had issues with the FREEIP app in the past and I mentioned that the app has dozens of 1 star ratings on the app store I was told that these reviews were left by people who were using the wrong app for their device. Well I am using the app you told me to use and IT DOESNT WORK AT ALL so I assume that the other reviews are genuine. The customer service is always good but I just want this thing to work. I dont want to have to keep calling them and going back to resolve issues. They need to find an alternative app and send details of it to customers who have they duped into buying this system which is now not fit for purpose. I cant even find another company who sell this system or any info suggesting an alternative app. I am wondering if its obsolete.

“after sales service & support”

I`ve spent some 27 yrs in technical sales & marketing,10 of them in security (passive & active IR), so possibly I`m in a position to quantify my comments ref. after sales support. DDS are absolutely superb in this field, they have enough engineers on board to ensure that you always get through to a member of their support team. All my issues with the system have not been with the quality of their system, mostly due to Microsoft "hi-jacking" my computer with Windows 10.My Guardian 4 is a VERY high quality system with the same quality after-sales support. I have after-sales support on my 2 Dell computers but I have to pay for this, DDS provide the same free of charge & @ a far better service (ease of contact/quality of engineers assisting).This system & the back-up support is excellent. Thank you DDS.

“Only great things to say about DDS”

DDS are a reliable vendor. I had made a purchase from them last year with a little worry in mind since I had never used them before. The order came on time and was just as expected. Great service from DDS. I'm now making a second order with confidence. Knowing that my order will be of very high quality and delivered on time. Not a worry in mind, DDS have it covered. Customer service is also fantastic, I needed to change the name on the delivery address and the person I spoke to over the phone was friendly and made the change literally immediately.

“keep beeping for no reason”

this dvr is installed in our building, and keep emitting beeping sounds for no reason, day and night, driving people up to wall. worst and stupidest product i've ever see so far

“First Class Service”

I bought a kit and installed myself as everything you need is in the box. when it came to setting up I called at least half dozen times with various queries and DDS have proved to be happy to help every time without exception. Prices are market comparable but the real selling point for me is their technical knowledge and backup service they provide. If you need a CCTV system or parts for one get it from these guys today. enough said.

Previously I have used cheap cameras from China, the last one taking 2 weeks to arrive and lasted just about as long. This camera cost me more but I consider it money well spent, the delivery was very quick, never known a courier to specify the time of day they would arrive and then keep to it! Installation was easy and the use of allen key fittings made the well crafted camera secure. The picture quality is superb, colour and contrast did not need any tweeking as it usually does. Overall a great piece of kit and a great buying experience

“CCTV systems”

We had a number of burglaries in our business park which prompted me to get some quotes. I had a number of CCTV Quotes from installation companies and the lowest was £1880+VAT for a 4 camera system. These installation companies believe small business have loads of money. Anyway, I decide to go online and got talking to a few companies. Some were helpful and others just wanted to sell you a system. DDS recommend a system package (CK-4VN, see www.digitaldirectsecurity.co.uk) which was perfect. The sales team was helpful but the support team was excellent. Never experienced an after sales team like it. Upgrade to 8 Channel MicroLITE DVR was a good suggestion as I now have a need for one additional camera. Keep up the good work! The country needs companies that can offer a great after sales service. I was looking for a replacement DVR to a cheap CCTV kit i'd bought elsewhere. After searching the internet i came across there website which was very easy to navigate. I decided to visit there office for a demonstration as they are local to me. They had all the equipment on display and was very helpful. I purchase a MicroLITE dvr which was very easy to setup (for a competent IT person). I did however need help with setting up the over the internet viewing part. I called for help and was very impressed at the remote access setup provided and at the speed it was done. Would definately recomend to others and will be using for future upgrades to my system.

MicroLITE 4 Channel CCTV DVR - DIGITAL DIRECT SECURITY

I wanted CCTV at home (two cameras) - I wanted to fit it myself and I wanted advice, I hadn't got a clue about CCTV or how it worked, and I needed a good DVR (Digital Video Recorder). I had been quoted £2000 by a local security firm to supply and fit what I wanted, I thought it very pricy so I looked on the internet and found Digital Direct Security. I liked their site and range of products - thats why I chose them. Bear in mind I have never experienced any CCTV products before.

After a long fact-finding session when the staff asked me exactly what I wanted to do, I was finally advised which system to buy - a DVR, hard drive and two day/night cameras - to match what I wanted to do. There was no attempt to over-sell what I needed.

The advice turned out to be excellent and the kit they recomended works perfectly - arriving three days after I ordered it.
I kept going back to them for how-to info, like configuring my router firewall and adjusting the cameras - they even connected over the internet to help me directly. When I sent a series of questions by email, I received a detailed and very clear reply. I think they were very patient - they must have got a bit fed up with all the calls...!

Thanks to this company, I can now monitor my home - front and back - day or night. The cameras start recording when they detect movement and the interface is very easy to use. I can look through the cameras from the following sources, which in turn I find incredible:-
My TV in the lounge (system menus etc) using a Marmitek Invisible Scart which transfers IR and video to the remote digital control unit which I've hidden in another building.
My Pc upstairs
My wireless laptop (which helps with lining up the cameras)
My Pc at work
Last but not least - my Nokia mobile phone (N82)
I can also capture snapshots and easily save clips to my remote Pc - the system even emails me if there's a loss of signal or an alarm event. How cool is that!
The equipment I bought from them consists of two high quality external Sony cameras, this amazing digital control box with hard drive (DVR), miles of cables(containing signal AND power), power supply with distribution for 4 cameras.
And the price of all this? £525 (including VAT and courier delivery) - and I certainly would not have been supplied with such high quality kit if I had gone locally.

As to service from DDS - They do go out of their way to help.
My advice when dealing with them is - take their advice and buy the best DVR you can afford - the one they supplied was already configured for normal use so there's very little setting up to do - also, buy a bigger hard drive than you anticipated.

I recently recomended them to a friend and they supplied another lot of excellent equipment which went in perfectly. My system continues to watch my home and even sends me emails with pictures atached if someone approaches the front door.

All in all, these DVR's and Digital Direct Security who make them, cannot in my view be faulted. (the DVR was called a ProNET but has since been renamed.It is identical)
