The published fuel economy by Peugeot for the 3008 1.6 diesel ECG are as follows:
FUEL CONSUMPTION (EU Directive 1999/100)
Urban drive cycle mpg (l/100km) 47.9 (5.9)
Extra urban drive cycle mpg (l/100km)65.7 (4.3)
Combined drive cycle mpg (litres/100 km)57.7 (4.9)
As the car was chosen largely because of it's published excellent fuel consumption figures I am very disappointed as they are NOT achievable in normal driving. I have driven the car using various techniques ie without lights, aircon etc etc. The best mileage I have obtained, even on a 498 mile drive using motorways is 47.3 mpg. Peugeots reply to my letter regarding this is: The published figures are not obtainable in normal usage. I am not alone in this bad fuel consumption as a friend who took delivery of an exact model a month later than myself cannot even achieve the figures I have. I have other cars that produce the mileage quoted by the manufacturer and in some cases even better them. I do not think I will entertain a replacement vehicle from Peugeot when the time comes.

This handles really well, it also shifts when you put your foot down. In terms of it being practical this car is amazing - the boot is surprisingly spacious, really like the different shelves - oh and a torch :).. It also looks great and the glass roof just makes it very stylish and open. This is a great car as a people carrier, mpv it really is what they say it is - a crossover :). Will look to buy this after a great test drive.
