    Being a computer technician, I have to run around and install and manage operating systems on computers that do not have a monitor attached to them. The Epiphan Systems KVM2USB was a godsend as it allowed me to use my laptop as a replacement for the monitor, mouse, and keyboard. This meant no more hauling around bulky equipment and cables.
    Unfortunately though, the software that comes with the KVM2USB is unable to do video capture or record images, as that option is greyed out (seems like you need to buy another device), and I couldn't get it to work on resolutions higher than 1280 x 1024, which was an issue with some of the systems I was working with.
    Overall though, for a computer technician, the device does what it promises - allows you to use your laptop as a keyboard, mouse, and video terminal, and just for that reason I would recommend this device to anyone in the field.
