“Trouble with interference”

Written on: 27/01/2014 by cx927941 (1 review written)

This could be a really good radio for the kitchen or bathroom - however, as other users have have already mentioned and complained about is the interference whatever position you put it in. Try moving it and sometimes you get a reasonable listening, but move away from it and boy oh boy the interference starts up and if you dare move the power plug or even touch it the interference is bad and can even go off FM to DAB. DAB stations are hopeless in our area (Portsmouth) so be careful !… Read Full Review

I had the same problem as some earlier reviewers, the damn thing just ate the batteries. I bought mine on 28th December 2010 and the batteries ran out today 12th January 2011 !!
I used in the bathroom for about 1 hour each day, the Asda help centre said that the batteries only lasted 4 to 6 hours!
I took the radio back to the store and when asked if I wanted to swap the radio for another one I replied ********* No Thankyou.
I think its time that Asda had these radios re-engineered as this… Read Full Review

This radio is good value compared with other models on the market, so long as it works.

Unfortunately, I had two that developed the same fault within a few days. I used mine via the mains lead and with rechargable batteries. I discovered that even when it is running on the mains lead it drained the batteries. When I used it with batteries only it continued to drain the batteries even when switched off.

The mains lead connection to the radio is not very tight, so if you move the radio is… Read Full Review

I brought this "portable radio" for use in the bathroom. Unfortunately it eats batteries, after a couple of days, the 6 alkaline 'C' size batteries require replacement. Are all sets like this or is mine faulty? It's OK on the mains adapter though… Read Full Review

I was looking for an entry level dab radio without spending much money, I had looked through various home shopping catalogues but nothing realy caught my eye, I went into asda and saw this asda E80170 dab radio and it looked good. Having read jason x 's review I took the plunge and bought one knowing that I had 28 days to return it if it didn't perform. It won't be going back! I pick up 43 dab stations here in worcestershire, and the sound quality is superb, it has a nice clear display, comes… Read Full Review

Sound quality superb? The mono derivation is incorrect meaning fir instance you can lose a lot of the speakers on question time and can almost totally lose some of the mix when listening to sounds of the sixties (they used stereo for effectt on a lot of tracks almost inaudible vocals on Bb king this morning)
