Good Points: Nice beautiful chocolate colored hand piece. Large display screen.

Bad Points: Loss of network and frequent hanging.

General comments: I bought this nice looking phone in Nairobi-Kenya in July 2003 from a reputable phone dealer. By September 2003, two months later this phone just suddenly failed and completely could not power on. I took it to the dealer as it was still under six months warranty. It was repaired but three months later in December, problems of network failure cropped up frequently and the phone could not receive or transmit calls. Finally the phone completely failed. This phone is lying in my office draw dead. Any suggestions?

I bought this Ericsson R320 / R320s mobile phone after I read many reviews. Almost every one of them hardly found anything bad on the phone, so I thought I would solve a phone problem once for all. Oh, how wrong I was.
It is very rich with features, and it would take too much space to mention them all here. On the other hand, to use all these features you have to fight the menus, which are not particularly intuitive. For some reason (battery saving, maybe) every operation on the phone is slow, ...

The Ericsson R320 / R320s mobile phone offers a good diary, messenger and friend for a nominal price.

The Ericsson R320 is a great mobile phone in terms of features. Ericsson certainly needs to do something about its software or whatever it is that knocks it off.

Bought the Ericsson R320 mobile phone to upgrade from 2618s and have the advantage of infra-red with portable pc on the cheap. Only disadvantage - at the time - was that I had to take a contract with a particular network instead of using a pre-pay card ... but am now also able to call from abroad ... Only at one time since I have had it - about a year - have I had to remove the SIM card and re-insert it. Other than that no problem.

The Ericsson R320 mobile phone is good. I have had my 320 for 2 years. the 320's original software - rubbish - but after my fone was repaired i have never had any problems. The reception is the best. The stand by time is pretty good (3 days).

In two years this Ericsson R320s is my 4th mobile phone i had after Siemens S6, Motorola D 52o, Nokia 7110. All these phones were good in something but my R320s has all these good features in one.
I must learn, like at school, the phones features for some weeks and i like this very much. What i liked especially is it`s speed of connecting voice calls, mesages, WAP services.

So I get my dream phone (look at the good points) and I tryed to ignore the bad points. But after using it for a month (less than 1 hour call time) the phone went off and stayed off, of course in the worst situation possible, during hollidays when I was unreachable for friends and family. Got the phone fixed (not replaced!!! I was disappointed on this - it was not a cheap phone so I expected a replace), the operation took a month, and I returned to my old SH 888.

DO NOT BUY THIS ERICSSON R320 TELEPHONE!
It will cause you a lot of headaches. I have several times complained to ericsson about the lousy software in this telephone and have had the software updated several times and now i have the latest software version and ok it doesn't lock up the phone as much as the older ones but its still slow in the menu and sometimes the display goes amok

No doubt about it-the Ericsson R320 is the best phone in it's price range. Very easy to use, good battery (gives ~ 4 days standby with standard batery), lots of utilities: clock, alarm, timer, WAP browser, calendar/appointments - all of these much easier to use if you have a PDA (I use to write everything (appointments, phone numbers, SMS) in my Visor Deluxe and quickly transfer them in my phone so I never miss my alarms.
I am looking forward to the R380 and especially I wonder what the new Son ...

I have found the R320s to be the best mobile phone around for using with Windows CE devices. Other brands of phones require you to install software and fiddle with settings, whereas the Ericsson just works straight out of the box.
I foolishly tried to buy a different brand of phone for my wife to go with her CE device (after she got jealous of me being able to surf the net anywhere), but found that newer mobiles just were simply too expensive and didn't do the job nearly as well!

    It's a real ...

Ericsson R320 is a very reliable phone, having all what you would need to your everyday work. eventhough it's a bit bulky and freezes sometimes, it is still a good buy because its very reliable.

I've had a few WAP phones (Sagem 930, Sony J5, Trium @ Geo) but this is by far the best. The build quality is superb, there's a decent-sized key panel and the keys have really positive clicks. I particularly like the pulldown menuing system and the screen is very evenly and properly backlit - unlike most other phones which use tacky sidelit LED devices.

OK the phone is a bit large but makes up for it with being only 12mm thick (I'm using the slimline battery). The battery information is very ...

I've chosen this phone for its IrDA ability to use with my Psion Series 7. It has all the features I would need in a phone.
However, response to key presses is slow, and the software is not stable. I had to turn off the hone several times each day. Sometimes the Hands-free does not work, needs restart to get it in action. It gave up working after a 2 months usage and I got a replacement, but with the same problems.
The Nokia 6210 would be the matching competitor, but it has the same stability ...

The Ericsson R320 is now obsolete, but if the quality of this phone is indicative of the latest models, the Ericsson R380 or R520 would both make ideal business phones.

It is a good solid design, with a metal back plate and a 'stubby' rubber antenna, which ensures that weak spots like an antenna shaft or battery door are eliminated. The battery release switch looks as if it could be accidentally activated, although it hasn't happened to me yet. Despite being a Swedish tank, this phone still h ...

I want to describe 2 bugs that are not fixed yet. Also peoples from Ericsson-Catania, Sicily, told me that they can't be fixed by software. I don't trust them at all, while they told me once (after 3-4 minutes of "hard trying")that is impossible to upgrade my telephone software because they always receive a message saying that the hardware of my telephone is broken. They offer instead to send my telephone 2 weeks for repair at Ericsson-Rome, but I was smart enough to not agree this idea. I tried ...

I work for a GSM service provider. I have used a lot of phones like 6210, timeport etc. But for the past few months I am using R320. At first it looks like a flat brick. but slowly you start liking it and end up falling in love with the phone design. The features are superb it has everything that you can expect from a phone.
