Sony KDL-52W5500

Summary
The Sony impresses in all areas, although it's the backlight issue that costs the set a valuable star

Pros
Takes all the brilliant aspects of the KDL-52V5500 and adds even better motion

Cons
but also suffers from the same uneven backlight

Sony Bravia W5500 (KDL-46W5500)
19 Aug 2009

Summary
Despite a rather dour exterior, the 1080p, 46-inch Bravia KDL-46W5500 is a fantastic LCD TV. Its images are nothing short of sensational, it offers good connectivity and multimedia functionality, and, compared to other Bravia sets, it's surprisingly ...

Pros
Excellent picture quality ; good connectivity and multimedia functionality ; decent audio ; good value

Cons
Online features are flimsy ; not particularly pretty

Verdict
For those who can't afford one of Sony's exceptional X4500 LED-backlit TVs, the fantastic functionality and performance of the surprisingly affordable Bravia KDL-46W5500 should do the trick. It's just a shame that Sony's online system isn't as good as ...

Summary
Only high-def addicts need apply

Verdict
With an excellent performance with high-def and below-par digital TV, the KDL-46W5500 presents something of a conundrum. If you intend to buy a TV of this size and continue watching Freeview and DVDs, buy a plasma - no question about it. But if a diet ...

Sony Bravia KDL32W5500 review
8 Sep 2009

Summary
The Sony Bravia KDL32W5500 is a Full HD 32in LCD television with multimedia features, good picture quality and a modern design. It's one of the best mid-size LCD screens we've tested, but its price is double that of some other 32in TVs we've seen.

Verdict
If you're looking for a mid-size LCD television, the Sony Bravia KDL32W5500 is king of the bunch. It comes with a higher price tag than we would have liked, but if you want the pedigree you'll have to pay for it.

Sony Bravia KDL-32W5500
21 Sep 2009

Summary
Its rather bland front end gives way to a much more appealing rear, distinguished by a really healthy collection of connections including four HDMIs, a USB port, and an intriguing Ethernet port. This dual-purpose jack can both connect to a DLNA PC, or ...

Pros
Really sharp HD and standard def pictures, good colours and black levels, plenty of features, solid audio

Cons
Limited viewing angle, currently disappointing online service, occasional picture 'bloom', minor motion blur

Sony Bravia KDL-46W5500
9 Sep 2009

Summary
The Sony Bravia KDL-46W5500 is a 46-inch Full HD LCD telly with 100Hz motion control, a tonne of picture processing features, 24p Cinema mode, eco settings and four HDMI ports.

Pros
LCD tellies have a shelf life comparable to accident-prone mayflies, so it's a joy to find a futureproof-ish, Full HD flat screen that concentrates on picture, sound and build quality at the expense of high-tech gimmicks. Having said that, this Bravia ...

Cons
No, colours aren't as rich nor blacks as solid as those on the LED-powered 46X4500, but that particular vixen costs twice as much as this foxy lady. Don't expect too much from AppliCast web apps either – the cheesy calculator, clock and FAQ widgets ...

Verdict
Sony's tellies are marching proudly towards a new golden age, matching superb visuals with surprisingly affordable price-tags. Hardly budget priced but a bargain nonetheless.

My LG RZ37LZ55 power supply unit exploded after 10 months, replaced under warranty. Same happened again after 20 months. New and apparently updated unit to be replaced by myself. Lets see what happens next. Avoid the aggro and don't buy lg.

For the past 6 months I've had to turn the power off and then on again before getting a picture on my LG RZ37LZ55. Tonight there was a loud bang and the picture disappeared. I still get the green/red light but nothing else.

Logik LCX27WN2
27 Sep 2004

I bought the Logik LCX27WN2 TV 5 weeks ago and from day one have had problems with sound.
It's distorted and a fault with this model and Currys have had to take it back as there is a known fault with this model.
Beware of this television!

Panasonic TX26LMD70
5 Mar 2008

Picked the Panasonic TX26LMD70 bargain up brand new at ASDA in the New Year sales.

Great picture quality (I think best in class currently apart from LXD70 with 100hz and 8500:1) , decent sound, good menus with preview, good input selection, great remote and decent design.

For the money cannot beat it, especially with a class leading HDMI upscaling Pioneer 400V-K DVD player for £60 delivered from SCAN!
