Many people will probably be overjoyed at the prospect of being able to get a decent-sized Sony Bravia TV for £600. Before you get too excited, though, you should know that the KDL-37S5500 comes with some pretty major performance strings attached

The Samsung LE40M87BDX looks great although it tends to attract the dust.

I am watching Sky through it (not Sky HD) and depending on the channel being watched the digital artefacts relating to watching low res picture on high res tv are fairly annoying. Some channels are better than others.

It would really benefit from an HD source.

The sound is OK but not very deep.

Shop around for a Samsung LE32R74BDX 32in HD (High Definition) ready TV. Buying online is far far cheaper than buying from a shop. I got mine from Comet with a good bundle of extras. It looks great on a black glass stand. Check the serial numbers carefully on reduced models, as they may be getting rid of older models. You want the HDMI connectivity. Breakdown cover seems a good idea, as no-one really knows the life of these TV's. They are not like a normal TV which will go on for ever. Do a...

I would not recommend you buy this Toshiba TV or any electronic product from them, because if a fault occurs and you have to deal with their customer service department you will more than likely be frustrated, irate and disappointed.

The remote control has to be exactly inline with the sensor on the television, or it will not work. With other appliances I can bounce the infra red off walls all around the room, but with this you need telescopic sight to aim correctly.
I took my television back to Comet and demonstrated the problem, but it was clear from the moment I walked into the store that I would not get any help or a refund/exchange. The staff at Comet were very unhelpful, and they quoted me the riot act about...

I think the problems we have encountered are a phenomena of flat screen tvs and will take some getting used to. We perceived Sony and this model to be the best we could buy but haven't been blown away. We are old school and imagine these things to "just work" but you have to fiddle. Conversley we expect quality of the image to improve but were disappointed by the morphing. Many others tell us this is a "feature" of the technology rather than this product.
