Sony KDL-40Z5500

Summary
We're really fed-up with saying this, but here's yet another Sony with a superb performance that's ruined by uneven backlighting

Pros
Impeccable motion processing; punchy, detailed pictures with subtle, neutral colours; good sound; compact, stylishly-understated design

Cons
Blotchy backlight

Not contacted DM Tech yet, thought I would look on the web first so may be they can redeem themselves.

Sony KDL-V26A12U
21 Mar 2006

I purchased the Sony KDL-V26A12U after many hours spent comparing LCD televisions at similar sizes and value. Plasma TVs were too expensive and large to really feature in my shortlist and rear projectors have been known to suffer from the dreaded "burn-in" if linked to some games consoles. I've had a Logik LCX27WN2 LCD TV for just over a year, and it's been fine. My only real moans are A. The sound is not the best, and (B), the lack of a second scart socket. Little niggles really, but I'm generally pleased with the TV.

Dvd never really worked, cant get the disc out- eject doesn't work, wont recognise genuine discs. Makes a lot of noise whirring the disc round n round! Operates via the remote intermittently. Poor Value for a lot of money. Dont bother. Choose another make.

Sony kdl40v4000

Possibly sonys best value set, very close to the 40w4000 in terms of overall performance, stylish in use, I set mine up with a bluray calibration disc and the all round performance is splendid, if you do this you also lower the sets power consumption by around 40 percent from its shipped settings, so carbon friendly too!
