We have had this whirlpool awz480e 8Kg front loader for 5 years. The machine washes clothes well, but it falls far short in terms of reliability that one would expect from an extra large loader. The biggest problem with the machine is that there is too much electronics built in. Added to this is the fact that local whirlopool technicians who are sent to repair the machine under the whirlpool extended warranty are not very knowledgeable about the details of the machine. Moreover and more frustrating, the warranty provided by whirlpool is worthless as the service center and repair technicians have no convern for inordinate delays in repair. We have just waited 6 weeks to have an electronic fault repaired despite multiple visits by inexperienced technicians and the fault is still not repiared. The machine has had multiple other problems over the past five years requiring multiple call outs. This is not what we expect from a high capacity machine and from our direct experience with our previous Kenmore washing machine, this whirlpool model is entirely unreliable. We would not recommend it to manyone living in Ireland due to the lack of appropriate support and we would not recommend it to anyone in other parts of the world as there are much more reliable machines available. If you are enticed by the "green" featues on the device, consider the energy that is wasted by technicians driving to multiple calls over the lifetime of this machine which more than negated any of the intended benefits.
