Toshiba 42RV635
6 Jul 2009

Summary
The home for all this step-up technology is passably attractive thanks to the slenderness and extreme glossiness of its bezel. And there are plenty of connections to keep us smiling too, including four HDMIs and a USB port for JPEG playback.

Pros
Terrific standard definition pictures, great value, decent feature count for its money

Cons
HD pictures not the sharpest, really limited viewing angle, picture not very bright when calibrated to look its best

Summary
With treats like like the JournE Touch and NB200, it's easy to forget that Toshiba's hottest skill is churning out eyeball-friendly HD tellies. And the Toshiba Regza 42RV635DB is no exception to the usual standard expected from the gadget giant. But ...

Pros
Great pictures, good price and crammed with cool features

Cons
Basic features getting silly names: MetaBrain anyone

Verdict
A great Full HD TV that you'll struggle to beat at the price

In this price bracket and size of lcd you need to prioritize and compromise. Go for the LG 19LS4R if your priority is picture quality.

I am writing this comment in response to the previous person as I really like the unit and think it is good value for money. I have had it for nearly two years and it has been working great and I am happy with the sound as well. My wife and I were completely open minded when we went out to buy this television. However, this one had by far the best picture when we compared it to all the others at John Lewis. I have seen the unit offered for as low as £699 which is an absolute bargain (I...

LG 32LG6000

Unfortunately, I had 2 of the LG 32LG6000 and both showed the optical sound bug when using the optical connection to external AV amplifier. It would have got a full 10/10 except for the optical problem: as long as you don't use the optical connection, this set is great value for money. I really was sorry to have to reject this set because of that niggling bug.

Getting the LCD TVs unit out of the box it looked good, got it onto the wall mount and tuned it in. Poor quality teresteral. Tuned in the DTV. Signal strength is good, but the picture goes from pixelated to ok to no signal. When the picture pixelates waggling the coax connection on the TV unit rectifies the picture for a while then it is back to pixels.

Having never heard of the make before, the salesman at CURRY's assured me that this was a strong manufacturer.
