    Tucked away in a narrow alley off Deal High Street is Appayon, an Indian restaurant which specialises in low fat food with high high nutritional value. Their extensive menu is different from typical Indian food halls and features a range of fish dishes, including lobster. It really delivers on full flavour chicken and lamb dishes and the fluffy basmati rice with vegetables is quite special. Prices are very reasonable; it is possible to eat very well for under £15 a person because the portions are so generous. The Monday night offer of £9.95 for any starter, main dish and side dish from the menu, with rice or naan, is exceptional value. This just might be one of East Kent's hidden gems, it is well worth seeking out.
